Dazu District, which belongs to Chongqing, was built in the first year of the Qianyuan Dynasty of the Tang Dynasty (AD 758). It is named after the meaning of "Dafeng Dazu". It is located in the west of Chongqing, 55 kilometers east of Chongqing and 155 kilometers west of Chengdu. Dazu District faces Tongnan District in the north, Tongliang District in the northeast, Yongchuan District in the southeast, Rongchang District in the southwest, and Anyue County in Sichuan in the northwest. It covers an area of 1436 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 6 streets and 21 towns with a registered population of 1067861 (2017). In 2017, Dazu District achieved a GDP of 43.15 billion yuan, with a primary, secondary and tertiary industrial structure ratio of 10.7, 58 and 31.3. Dazu area is dominated by cars and motorcycles, intelligent manufacturing, modern hardware, modern home, electronic information, circular economy and so on. It has won the first batch of 5A scenic spots in the country.
