Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is an autonomous prefecture under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province, located in the southwest of Gansu Province, located in the northeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the western part of the Loess Plateau, with high terrain in the northwest and low in the southeast, and has the characteristics of continental seasonal climate. The city has a total area of 38521 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over seven counties and one city, with a total population of 742300 in 2017.
