Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County is located in the south bank of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the east of Chongqing and the heart of the three Gorges Reservoir area. Shizhu County is the "hometown of Coptis chinensis", "the hometown of Chinese chili" and "the largest production base of water shield in the country".
