Zhanjiang, a prefecture-level city of Guangdong Province, formerly known as "Guangzhou Bay", also known as "Port City", is located at the southern end of Chinese mainland and southwestern Guangdong Province, between longitude 109o 31 °E and latitude 20 °12 °21 °35'N, covering a total area of 13225.44 square kilometers. Zhanjiang belongs to the tropical northern edge monsoon climate, which is regulated by the marine climate all the year round, without severe cold in winter and heat in summer, and is rich in subtropical crops and seafood resources. As of 2018, Zhanjiang City has jurisdiction over 4 municipal districts, 3 county-level cities and 2 counties, and the municipal government is stationed in Chikan District. By the end of 2018, the resident population of Zhanjiang was 7.332 million. In 34 (1945) September, the establishment of municipal construction, named Zhanjiang City. Because it once belonged to Saochuan County in history, it once set up the Inspection Department of Ruchuan.
