Yancheng, a prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province, is located in the eastern coastal area of China, the central Jiangsu Province, the north wing of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the Yellow Sea to the east, Nantong to the south, Yangzhou and Taizhou to the southwest, and Huai'an to the northwest. Guanhe and Lianyungang are opposite to the north. The terrain of the city is flat and the canals are vertical and horizontal. Yancheng has jurisdiction over three districts, five counties and one city, with a total land area of 16931 square kilometers, including a coastal beach area of 4553 square kilometers, which is the only world natural heritage site in Jiangsu Province, China's Yellow (Bohai) migratory bird habitat. The registered population is 8.2615 million in 2018.
