Yubei District, which belongs to the main urban area of Chongqing and Chongqing metropolitan area, is located in the northwest of Chongqing. It is a new district established on the basis of abolishing the original organizational system of Jiangbei County on December 17, 1994 with the approval of the State Council. Yubei District is adjacent to Changshou District in the east, Jiangbei District in the south, Banan, Nanan and Shapingba District across the river, Beibei and Hechuan District in the west, Huaying City and Linshui County in Guang'an area of Sichuan Province in the north, covering an area of 1452 square kilometers. As of 2017, Yubei District has jurisdiction over 19 streets and 11 towns, with a resident population of 1.6323 million. Yubei District mainly has Tongjing Hot Spring City, Zhangguan Cave, Yufeng Mountain, Huawang Mountain Forest Park, Bijin Park, Bayu Folk Culture Village, Dinosaur fossil Exhibition Hall and other scenic spots.
