Children under 1.2 meters in height can indeed float! In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children as young as one year old are able to safely float when submerged in water due to their relatively low body density compared to adults.

As long as they don’t panic and open their eyes or nostrils underwater, these little ones will naturally experience buoyancy. This is because their bodies contain a higher proportion of air space and less dense tissue than adult bodies do.

Additionally, kids under 1.2 meters in height would typically be able-bodied to hold onto something solid if needed for support while floating – say, mom’s or dad’s hands 😉
