Dalian City Scenic Area is located 1.5 kilometers north of Pingxiang city in Guangxi Province and was the command center for setting up garrisons by Su Yuanchun during his tenure as governor of Guangxi. Dalian City lies in a valley, with grand architectural structures built on a massive scale back then.
The geographical environment “wulingju xiao beilian cheng, this place has hidden millions of troops; prepared arms and stored grains at the root, always fraught with danger from heaven.” The surrounding hills have eight mid-range artillery pillbox seats, like a ring-shaped wall united together, known as the “Heavenly Defense” and nicknamed after Dalian City. Here, the surroundings are breathtaking, peculiar rock formations stand out.

Dalian City lies in a valley, having grand architectural structures built on a massive scale back then: Commander-in-Chief’s Office, Martial Arts Hall, Celebration Palace, Training Grounds, Military Arsenal, Recruitment Pavilion, Cowshed, Public Room, Stage, Wusheng Temple, Caishen Temple, Zhaowang Temple. Four wells of different purposes (“Fu”, “Lu”, “Shou” and “Xi”) were also dug here using stone materials.
The site was listed as a key cultural relic protected unit in the autonomous region in August 1981 and has now become a tourist area with distinct characteristics.

Dalian City Scenic Area
Located 1.5 kilometers north of Pingxiang city, Dalian City was once a military headquarters for General Su Yuanjun’s directive during his tenure as commander-in-chief of Guangxi borders. It sits at the foot of mountains and has been excavated to reveal grand architecture from yesteryear: the Commissioner’s Office, Martial Arts Hall, Celebration Palace, Training Ground, Military Supplies Warehouse, Archery Pavilion, Cowshed, Official Residence, Theater, Temple of Warrior Gods, Treasury of Caishen Gods, Shrine of Dozo Kings. Four wells named “Fu” (), “Lü” (), “Shou” (), and “Xi” () were also dug for different uses.
The site was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangxi Autonomous Region on August 31, 1981. Today, it has become a scenic area with unique characteristics.
