As a Chinese citizen, you do need to apply for a visa before traveling to the Philippines. The type of visa required depends on your purpose and duration of stay.

If you’re planning a short-term trip (up to 30 days), you may qualify for a non-immigrant visa called “Temporary Visitor’s Visa” or “9A-1” which is usually given at the port of entry in Manila upon arrival. However, prior arrangement can be made through Philippine Consulate General’s office in Shanghai if needed.

For longer stays (more than 30 days), you’ll need to apply for a special non-immigrant visa called an “Artist Visa”, “Journalist Visa” or “Student Visa”, depending on your purpose of stay and qualifications. You must submit all required documents, including proof of payment for any necessary travel taxes, before applying.
