The most beautiful time to visit Zhangjiajie’s scenery is recently, and it’s the best travel season in summer when the weather is good. You can take great pictures, and the mountain trail isn’t slippery. It does get a bit hot though! When traveling to Zhangjiajie, definitely try their local specialties. I highly recommend this restaurant called Hua Xiang Feng, which serves delicious dishes like stir-fried tofu with mushrooms, steamed fish in stone pot, boiled chicken feet, and smoked pork belly from the mountains. It’s tasty and affordable, much more so than those big-chain restaurants! The environment isn’t bad either! Recommended!
“When going, reserve tickets one day in advance. If bad weather may be expected to rain heavily, suggest playing for three or four hours.”
Recently, Zhangjiajie’s scenery was at its most beautiful time of year, and summer is the best travel season. The weather is good for taking pictures of the scenic views, and hiking trails aren’t slippery - just a bit hot, haha! When traveling to Zhangjiajie, be sure to try their local specialties. I highly recommend Hua Xiang Xiang Restaurant’s signature dishes: three-coin rice, stone-fired fish, “tiger-killing” chicken, and mushroom-rum-soy-glazed pork. Delicious and affordable - much better than those big-name restaurants! The atmosphere is not inferior either! Highly recommended!
If going, book a ticket in advance one day early, bring an umbrella when ascending due to uncertain weather forecast; recommended playtime for three to four hours.
