In September of the Gregorian calendar, there is only the Tibetan Bathing Festival, which is a traditional festival for Tibetans to go to the river to wash. The famous Sholton Festival in the Tibetan calendar is in August of the Gregorian calendar. It is the largest, most solemn and richest festival among all the festivals in Tibet. It is also called "Yogurt Festival", "Tibetan Opera Festival" and "Buddha Exhibition Festival". The Shoton Festival in Lhasa generally lasts for 7 days, during which there are several activities such as exposing the giant Buddha in Drepung Monastery, Tibetan opera performances, and visiting Linka (picnicking, outing).
