Chongzhou Shijielin Scenic Area is located 5.5 kilometers south of Chongzhou City, covering an area of 1500 mu and featuring karst terrain. Due to years of erosion and weathering by rain and wind, a natural landscape resembling a “stone plateau” has formed, hence the name Stone Forest. Within the scenic area, there are numerous stone peaks that rise from the ground, some as high as 40 meters while others are mere inches tall or cluster together in groups or stand alone like sentinels.

Some resemble gazelles watching the moon, others resemble tigers by a gully, resembling monkeys stealing peaches, and still more resemble ants jumping across stones. The interior of these stone peaks often contains hidden caves with mysterious and winding passages narrow as a wire.

The mountain is clear, the water is jade-like, creating an enchanting natural color painting that’s like having heaven on earth at your fingertips. This scenic area was developed in 1988 and officially opened to visitors in 1991.

Numerous classic stories have been excavated here, such as “Three Sisters’ Contemplation”, “Wandering the Flora”, “One Man Flying with the Wind”, “Two Lions Greeting Guests”, “Jade Rabbit Descending Divine”, “Rhino Mountain”, “The Auspicious Age of Wisdom and Talent”, “Cuckoo Grass”, “Flying Stone”, and “” (Luo Han Cave), as well as “” (Immortal Person’s Cave).

Ticket prices for Chongzhou Shijielin Scenic Area are 32 yuan, and we suggest spending at least 2 hours to fully appreciate the scenery. Visitors can take a boat ride along the riverbank of Liaohe River, enjoying its picturesque views.

Scenic Area Located in Chongzuo City, 5.5 km South of downtown area, occupies an area of 1500 mu and belongs to karst terrain. Due to long-term erosion and weathering, natural “stone forest” scenery has formed, hence named Shijielin Scenic Area.

Inside the scenic area are numerous stone peaks standing tall, ranging from over 40 meters high to less than 2 meters, or forming clusters or standing alone. Some resemble a rhino looking at the moon, some look like tigers roaring by the waterfalls, and others appear as monkeys snatching pears, like little ants jumping in the fields - all vividly alive.

There are many caves within the stone peaks that resemble ancient palaces, temples, or even thin lines in the sky. The mountains are clean and clear, with a natural painting of colors unfolding before your eyes like an intricate watercolor masterpiece.

The Shijielin Scenic Area was developed starting from 1988 and officially opened to the public in 1991. Many classic stories have been unearthed here, such as “Three Sisters Pondering”, “Eight Immortals Searching for Flowers”, “One Piece of Cloth Blowing Well”, and more.

Admission tickets cost RMB 32 per person, and we recommend a visit time of two hours.

Visitors can take boat rides along the He River to admire the stunning views on both banks. Additionally, some interactive experience projects, such as shouting into springs, are available for visitors’ participation.
