Beigusu Mountain Forest Park, originally named Beigusu Mountain Ecological Park and Haibin Park, is a provincial-level forest park located at the entrance of Beigusu Tunnel in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. It operates all day round. The park has three major ecosystems: oceanic, forestry, and wetland systems, which constitute an extremely characteristic ecosystem in Lianyungang, rich in natural resources and vegetation.
The plant species within the forest are numerous, with a forest coverage rate of around 86.3%. As one of the most important stopovers for migratory birds in Lianyun District, this park is also rich in wildlife bird resources, including gray stilt, pheasant, wild duck, White crane, Swan Goose, Great white heron, Warship bird, and Eurasian curlew, among others. There are 19 orders, 50 families, and 225 species of birds, with 42 species being national first- or second-level protected ones, as well as 122 species regulated by the China-Japan Migratory Bird Protection Convention.
Northern Hill Forest Park, originally named Northern Hill Ecological and Coastal Park, is a provincial-level forest park located in Lianyungang City, Lianyun District, tunnel north of northern hill, open all day. The park has three major ecological systems: oceanic, forest, and wetland ecosystems, forming a unique ecosystem characteristic of Lianyungang, rich natural resources, and vegetative resources.
The plant species in Northern Hill Forest Park are incredibly diverse, with the entire forest coverage rate reaching around 86.3%. As an important stopover station for migratory birds in Lianyun District, this park’s wild bird resources are also extremely abundant, featuring gray magpie, pheasant, common mallard, white cranes, Mute Swan, greater yellow-billed hornbill, great spotted woodpecker, naval warbler, and 19 species of Eurasian Spoonbills. Among them, there are 42 national-level protected bird species, as well as 122 international-protected bird species specified in the Middle East-Migratory Bird Protection Agreement.
