Liangshan, to the southeast of the urban area, with an altitude of 1174 meters, echoes the Zhongpo Mountain in the north of the city, becoming an indispensable "green lung" of the urban area. The tallest peak in Huaihua City, Liangshan, is verdant and upright, regulating the air quality of more than 500,000 Huaihua people. Liangshan, a branch of Xuefeng Mountain, borders Chatou Township of Hongjiang City and Xinjian Township of Zhongfang County in the east, Baima Village of Huangyan Management Office in Hecheng District in the south, Zhongfang Town of Zhongfang County in the west, Yingkou Township of Hecheng District in the west, and Huaihua City Ring City in the north Expressway (next to the high-speed rail station), Maomaopo, Fenshuiao. It is 13.7 kilometers long from north to south and 12.4 kilometers wide from east to west.
The abbot of Denglan Temple is Shi Dengshu, who graduated from Jiangxi Buddhist College. There is a legend in Denglan Temple in ancient times. In the hearts of the villagers at that time, there must be gods on the top of the mountain. Therefore, some villagers planned to build a temple in Liangshan. However, before the construction of the temple started, it suddenly snowed heavily, and the mountains were covered with snow overnight. Early the next morning, the villagers discovered that the four pillars used to build the temple were missing, and there were deep and large footprints on the snow. Afterwards, the villagers followed the footprints and searched all the way, and finally found four pillars at the current site of Denglan Temple. The villagers thought it was the "will" of the gods, so they built the temple here.
After several wind and rain, during the Cultural Revolution, the ancient temple Denglan Temple was destroyed. In the early 1990s, Denglan Temple began to be rebuilt in the surrounding eight townships. When the foundation was excavated, a fragment of an ancient stele engraved with seal characters from the Tang Dynasty was dug out. Therefore, it can be inferred that Denglan Temple was built at least in the Tang Dynasty.
Some people once discussed the difference between "immortal" and "vulgar". Immortals are people + mountains, while vulgar is people + valleys. That is to say, people who go up the mountain are immortals, and people who go down the mountain are ordinary people. Standing on the top of the mountain, it seems to be out of the mundane world, only to feel calm and enlightened. There is an old saying: climb Dongshan and you will be Xiaolu, climb Taishan and you will be small. I thought, "If you don't climb Liangshan, you are not a hero, but if you climb Liangshan to see Huaihua".
