Xinjiang Geological Museum is currently China’s largest comprehensive geological science museum, serving as a professional exhibit hall introducing Xinjiang’s mineral resources, geological prospecting achievements, and general scientific knowledge related to geology. The museum has an area of 8,400 square meters, with eight exhibition halls covering topics such as the universe and Earth, life evolution, metallic minerals, non-metallic minerals, energy, gemstones, etc.
The museum collection includes over 12,000 items of various mineral specimens, rocks, fossils, plants, and animals. The museum has been selected as a national natural resource promulgation base for 2023, hosting regular science lectures, geological summer camps for teenagers, and promoting scientific knowledge through Earth Day, Science Month, Scientific Week activities.
The museum provides guided services to patriotic religious personnel and certain special individuals who visit the museum.
