Chongzuo Taiping Ancient City Located in Chongzuo, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, it’s a cultural tourist area that combines urban facilities, folk experiences, culinary delights, recreational activities, intangible cultural heritage exhibits, creative zones and themed boutique hotels.

Taiping Ancient City has a long history dating back to the Song Dynasty (976-984 AD), when the Northern Song Dynasty set up Left River Taiping Station. Later, during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, respectively, they established Taiping Street and Taiping Prefecture. Today, it already has over 1,000 years of history.

Inside the scenic area are more than 30 cultural landscapes including academies, city god temples, Taiping Prefecture government offices, Northern Capital Offices, Xuanzhenshan Temple, and Nantian Ancient Ferry Dock. The legend also says: “Lìshuǐ Sì Zhé (Four Ponds) ring around the three sides of the castle wall like a pot,” which refers to the fact that it is surrounded by left tributaries on all four sides, forming an arched damlike structure.

Chongzuo’s architectural style has Lingnan characteristics and mainly features Hui-style buildings. The ancient city exudes a rich cultural atmosphere with folk customs of multiple ethnic groups coming together. This place attracts tourists from around the world, not only becoming a popular leisure spot for locals but also transforming into a must-visit tourist hotspot.
