Xishuangbanna Ethnographic Museum is located on Yulin Avenue, Mannongfeng District, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It was completed and opened on November 11, 2010. The museum covers an area of 150 acres, with a construction area of 16,000 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 4,300 square meters. The overall building is in a typical Dai style. The magnificent building complex faces Jinghong City and is surrounded on three sides by lush natural forests and rubber forests. The collection in the museum includes stoneware, bronzeware, pottery, porcelain, silverware, bamboo and woodware, currency, folk cultural relics, educated youth memorials, etc., totaling 2,400 pieces, divided into ancient categories, folklore categories, and educated youth categories. Important collections include Tang Dynasty silver bowl with cicada bead pattern, Neolithic Age stone ax with shoulder, Ming Dynasty ivory toast seal, Qing Dynasty wooden toast seal, etc.
When I went there in 2022, there was no air conditioning in the exhibition hall in summer and it was very hot. There were many exhibits, so I had enough time to check them out.
