There are some Lahu villages in Menghai. The Lahu people are one of the ancient ethnic minorities in China and have unique culture and traditions. For example, the Hekai Village Committee under the jurisdiction of Menghun Town includes three Lahu villages: Manmai, Mannong Lao Village and Mannong New Village. Among them, the Mannong Tea Area has an altitude of more than 1,700 meters, is shrouded in clouds and fog all year round, has a warm climate, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall, and fertile soil. The ancient tea trees here are vast and neat. There are more than ten tea king trees at the junction of Mannong Old Village and Xinzhai. It is said that these trees were planted by the Lahu people when they settled here. They have been passed down for about fifty-five generations and are more than 800 years old. Still in good condition, with lush branches and leaves, reaching a height of four to five meters.
