To get from Wutaishan () to Yanmenguan () and Yuhe River (), you have several options. Since all three destinations are in the same general area, I’ll provide two routes with varying lengths and levels of difficulty.

Route 1: Faster but more crowded

  1. From Wutaishan, take a bus or taxi to Datong City (大同市), which takes around 2-3 hours.
  2. In Datong, grab another bus or train to Yanmenguan (), taking about an hour and a half.
  3. Visit Yanmenguan () and then take a local bus or taxi to Yuhe River () for around 1.5 hours.

This route is faster but may involve more time spent on buses and trains.

Route 2: Scenic but longer

  1. From Wutaishan, take a bus or shuttle to the town of Qingshui Temple (清水寺), which takes about an hour.
  2. Visit Qingshui Temple () and explore the surrounding mountains.
  3. Next, head to Yuhe River (), either by taking another local bus or hiking for around 5-6 hours.

After visiting Yuhe River, follow these steps:

  1. Take a taxi or ride-sharing service back to Datong City (大同市), which takes about an hour and a half.
  2. From Datong, take a train or bus to Yanmenguan (), which takes another around 3-4 hours.

This route offers more stunning scenery but is longer in total duration.
