The Guangxi Longmen Bridge is the first kilometer-class cross-sea suspension bridge in Guangxi, and it is the only one in Guangxi that is simultaneously listed as a pilot project of the “Transportation Powerhouse Science and Technology Promoting Safety” by the Ministry of Transport and the first batch of “Safe and Quality Engineering for a Century” demonstration projects. The bridge is located in Qinzhou City, Guangxi, spans the Longmen Strait, and is 7756 meters long. The main bridge is a single-span double-hinged suspension bridge, spanning the sea in one span. It adopts a portal-shaped concrete cable tower, with a height of 173 meters, a main span of 1160 meters, and a steel box girder bridge deck width of 35 meters. The approach bridge is a prestressed concrete continuous box girder bridge, with a length of 6596 meters and a width of 32 meters. The estimated investment for the project is 61.5 billion yuan, with a construction period of 5 years. Construction officially commenced on August 31, 2020, and the main channel bridge was successfully joined on January 8, 2024. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2024.
