Is there any reference for the entire route from Hangzhou to Lhasa and back by self-driving? Do you need to book accommodation in advance? Is there anything that needs special attention?

Starting from Hangzhou, first go to Shanghai, the starting point of National Highway 318, and then proceed along National Highway 318 from Shanghai to Lhasa to complete the entire journey of National Highway 318. It took us more than 20 days to stop and play from Shenzhen to Lhasa by self-driving. If we start from Hangzhou, it can be done within a month. The actual situation depends on the content of the trip. When we traveled, it was early September, and the accommodation was booked wherever we went. However, July is the peak season, and it is best to book accommodation in advance, especially when passing through tourist cities. Chengdu is the last big stop before entering the Tibetan area, and it is also a relatively important transit point. The required items should be ready at this stop. After all, shopping on the road later is definitely not as convenient as a big city. It takes a few hours to set off from Chengdu You can reach Kangding, and you will experience slight high reaction when you enter the plateau, so the glucose and headache medicine brought by Chengdu can be used immediately, and you don’t have to go to the pharmacy to buy them with headaches. The most important thing to pay attention to after entering the plateau area is diet. Do not eat spicy, irritating or indigestible food, because the hypoxic and low temperature environment will make the body and stomach become fragile and sensitive, and it is easy to be dragged down under a little burden. Fully adapt to the high temperature. On the contrary, remember not to drink alcohol before, even if it is only one or two degrees of alcohol. Try not to take a bath for the first day or two after entering the plateau, and remember not to wash your hair after the high reaction appears. The road ahead from Mangkang will be more difficult. You must pay attention to the safe speed and the mental state of the driver. Remember not to drive tired. If you are not in good spirits, you would rather rest for a day or two before starting. I wish you a pleasant journey
