The Dashuoshui Waterfall Scenic Area is located in Dadianshui Village, Banqiao Town, Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 29 kilometers southwest of the Shilin Scenic Area. The scenic area is open all day and every day of the year, and it is recommended to spend 1-3 hours for a visit. The admission fee is 18 yuan per person. The Dashuoshui Waterfall, also known as the “Flying Dragon Waterfall,” is formed by the fall of the Bayang River, a tributary of the Nanpan River. Its water source is the downstream of the White Dove River, where the Bayang River and several bends of the river converge. The river water meets two parallel fault layers, forming two larger waterfalls: the first one is called the Small Dashu Waterfall, and the second one is called the Big Dashu Waterfall. The Dashuoshui Waterfall, due to its large water volume, produces a loud roar when it falls, resonating through the valleys and creating the natural wonder of “Waterfall Spraying霞”. In June to August, the width of the waterfall can reach 70 meters, with a magnificent atmosphere, but one needs to walk to the opposite side of the waterfall to experience this grandeur.
