The Liulang Tunnel Hydroelectric Station is located in southeastern Yunnan Province, at the boundary of Qiubei and Mile counties. It was founded in 1957 and completed in 1960.
Liulang Tunnel has a portal elevation of 20 meters above the water surface of Nandu River and three streams flow into the tunnel after emerging from behind it, then joining with Nandu River.
This hydroelectric station is China’s first to use underground water for power generation. With installed capacity of 25,000 kilowatts, it has provided a new avenue for the development of Yunnan Province’s electricity industry.
The Luolang Hydroelectric Station is located in southeastern Yunnan Province, at the boundary of Qiongbei and Mihe counties. It was built from 1957 to 1960. The entrance of the tunnel is 20 meters higher than the water surface of the Nanpan River, with three tributaries flowing into the station after exiting through the tunnel before converging with the river. This hydroelectric power plant is China’s first underground hydropower plant using groundwater to generate electricity, with a capacity of 2.5 million kilowatts, providing a new avenues for development in Yunnan Province’s electric power industry.
