Xizihuang Mountain was originally named Baishi Mountain, historically referred to as “the first mountain in southeastern China”, and described by poetry lovers as “Baishi Cave Heaven”. It’s a national scenic spot area and 4A-level tourism district located southwest of Wenxi City, Zhujiang Province. The total area is 47.74 square kilometers, with six main scenic areas: Yuwu, Xiwenlu, Sanhu lake, Dongwenlu, Fenghuangshan mountain, Yangbafen Liu Gong valley.
The natural landscape features peaks, rocks, caves, lakes, waterfalls, and rivers as the most notable attractions. The humanistic landscapes feature temples, monasteries, ancient inscriptions on cliffs, and mysterious valleys. The area is characterized by majestic mountains, hidden valleys, flying waterfalls, dripping springs, mysterious Buddhist temples and relics, beautiful lake views, and picturesque sceneries.
In poems, it’s often praised as: “A thousand yards of hills lie far away”, “Ten li lake and mountain green jade horizontally”; these are testimonials to Xizihuang Mountain.

It is a national-level scenic area, 4A-star tourist zone, located within Lucheng City, Wenzhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province, with its primary site lying approximately 10 kilometers west of the city center. The total area of Yandang Mountain National Scenic Area covers an area of 47.74 square kilometers and is divided into six major scenic areas: Yuexi Dongsan, Xi Nielao, Sanhu Lake, Dong Nielao, Fenhua Peak, Yang Ba Dian Liu Gong Valley.
The natural landscape features of Yandang Mountain are characterized by peaks, cliffs, caves, ponds, waterfalls, and lakes. The cultural and humanistic landscapes include peculiarities such as the cave dwellings, grottoes, inscriptions on rocks, temples in valleys, scenic views with towering mountain faces, flying waterfalls, mysterious temples, green waters, and picturesque views of mountains and forests.
Some classic poems praising Yandang Mountain are “The distance stretches far and wide like a distant dike / Thousands miles flowing downstream to meet the rising tide” written by Xie Lingyun in Southern Dynasty, and “Ten miles lake mountain with blue stone rolling hillsides, two rivers flow, jade pendant of the ancient temple under clouds” written by Wang Shichen in Song Dynasty.
