The Dashi Bridge is located in the middle of Lijiang Ancient City’s river and was built by the Mu family, a local minority group, during the Ming dynasty. With over 500 years of history, it is a double-span stone arch bridge. Because you can see a mirror-like reflection of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain under the bridge, it is also known as “Ying Xue Bridge” (Reflection Bridge). Additionally, in ancient times, this was an area where silk fabric was sold, hence its name “Ma Bao Bridge.” The Dashi Bridge sits at the heart of Lijiang Ancient City, converging with Mishi Lane, Five-One Street, and Si Fang Street. For centuries, it has borne witness to the city’s commercial travelers and local exchanges, making it one of the most iconic bridges in ancient times. Today, this area remains a bustling commercial hub, drawing countless tourists each day. The bridge itself is paved with traditional yellow sandstone, exuding solidity and beauty.
The Da Shihqiao locates in the middle of Lijiang Ancient City, built by Mu family’s leader from Ming dynasty over 500 years ago. This is a double-arched stone bridge system. Because it allows people to see the reflection of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain down below, so it is also called “Yinxueqiao” ( Mirror Bridge). Also because this was an old place where brocade was sold in ancient times, it is also referred as “Mabanqiao” . Da Shihqiao sits at the heart of Ancient City, surrounded by Mingzhi Lane, Wuyi Street and Sifang Street. For centuries, it has borne witness to the city’s bustling commerce and tourism between merchants, locals exchanging goods, and services. Nowadays, this is a popular commercial hub with tourists pouring in like ants every day. The bridge faces are paved with traditional five-colored stones, firmly standing while providing an aesthetically pleasing view.
