The Cunjin Bridge is located at No. 95 Yuejin Road, Chikan District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, within the Cunjin Bridge Park, and is a cultural relic protection unit in Zhanjiang City. The bridge originally was a stone-arched concrete bridge over the He River of the French Concession in Guangzhou Bay (also known as Chikan River, now the Yueying Lake), with a total length of 19 meters and a width of 11.6 meters. In 1925, the people of Majiang County, Mazhang District, built the bridge to commemorate the local people’s resistance against the French. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the bridge was reconstructed. In 1959 and 1986, the bridge was expanded twice. Now, the Cunjin Bridge has become an important historical site and tourist attraction in Zhanjiang.
