The Yunnan Stone Forest World Geopark is located in the Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 78 kilometers away from the provincial capital of Kunming, covering a total area of 400 square kilometers. It is a famous karst stone forest landform landscape area, which was approved as one of the first batch of World Geoparks by UNESCO on February 13, 2004. Its main geological relics type is karst geology and landform, consisting of parts such as the Great Stone Forest Scenic Area, Niagushi Stone Forest Scenic Area, Changhu Lake Scenic Area, and Dadian Waterfall Scenic Area.
