We left Qingdao and went to Zibo, where we stayed in Zhangdian District. We ate at a Wu’s barbecue close to the train station which was very affordable and delicious, but by 3-4 pm many people had already occupied tables. When we passed through on April 1st it opened for dinner around 4:30 pm, I’m not sure if it’s still like that now or if they have all-day dining. The meat is marinated and tastes pretty good; there are options both inside and outside. Min’an barbecue also has a location in Zhangdian District but it’s a bit far from the train station. A taxi ride isn’t expensive, around 10-20 yuan. Min’an has two floors but actually not much space, if you didn’t get in for the first wave you’d have to wait quite long; even eating barbecue after doesn’t immediately let you in and still requires waiting for a long time. Min’an uses fresh meat which is cut right away and highly recommended, although their prices are slightly higher than others but I think it fits my expectations.
Zibo is very popular now, as the city government really puts heart into serving visitors, although there may be some deficiencies; personally, I think Zibo’s government truly put in effort to make sincere services.

We left from Qingdao and went to Zibo, where it’s located in Zhangdian district. We had dinner at Wu’s BBQ near the train station, which was quite affordable with good quality and value. However, by afternoon around 3 pm, some people were already seated, so we ended up going past that time and not getting a table until about 4:30 pm on April 1st. I’m not sure if it’s even busier now or if they have an all-day dining service.
The meat was marinated and tasted quite good; we ate outside but there were also seats inside. There is another BBQ place called Min’an in Zhangdian district, although farther from the train station, a taxi ride costs around 10 yuan. The building has two floors, but actually it’s not very spacious, so if you miss your turn to enter, you’d have to wait for a long time. However, when you do get in and order BBQ meat, the first batch usually runs out quickly anyway, and Min’an requires customers who can’t get in during their initial service window to line up afterwards.
Min’an uses fresh meat that’s even cut on the spot - it’s really great! Although they charge a bit more than Wu’s place, personally I think it’s acceptable. Right now Zibo is quite trendy; all the people here are genuinely enthusiastic about serving guests, but surely there must be some flaws as well, though to me, Zibo city government has done an excellent job with passion and sincerity.
