Gaiwan catecha is a traditional tea drinking custom in Yinchuan. Gaiwan catechu has different names due to different ingredients, and the placement of each gaiwan has different "code words". Because the tureen used is composed of three parts: a tray, a trumpet-mouthed tea bowl and a bowl cover, it is also called "Three Paotai" and "Sancai Bowl". Local people often entertain relatives and friends with "Sancai Bowl" and "Eight Treasures Tea", which is a major feature of Ningxia Hui tea culture.
