● Taijiang Miao Sisters Festival
Today's Miao Sisters' Day in the Taijiang area (Taijiang County, Shibing County, Jianhe County) is March 15th of the lunar calendar. This is a grand traditional festival for the Miao compatriots in Taijiang County. It is a typical Miao Valentine's Day, full of Warm and romantic colours. During the festival, Miao brigade compatriots play Lusheng, sing Miao love songs, eat sister meals, sing and dance, attracting tens of thousands of tourists every year. During the festival, young women are pampered by their families. Mothers prepare everything for their daughters early. They dig out the silver jewelry at home, boil it with alkaline water, polish it slowly, sew it on the embroidered clothes, and match it with pleats. Skirts, necklaces, bracelets and silver crowns, she dresses up her daughter very beautifully, looking forward to finding someone she likes in the festival.
Taijiang Sisters Festival is held from March 14th to 17th in the lunar calendar. The schedule of activities is as follows (for reference only):
one. Lunar March Fourteenth (April 18th)
From 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning, ten thousand people from the nine branches of the Miao people in Taijiang performed in costumes, showing the colorful Miao embroidery, silver ornaments and other clothing culture.
Route: Miaojiang Sister Square - Binjiang Avenue - Xiumei Square.
At 12:00 noon, a long table banquet for thousands of people, location: both sides of the Wengni River.
From 20:00 to 22:00 in the evening, experience activity for thousands of people, location: both sides of Wengni River, Daode Park, Xinfengyu Bridge.
Activity process: Calling sisters, looking for bosom friends, eating traveling meals, sharing joy, giving sisters meals, seeing off lovers and other six links
two. The fifteenth day of the third lunar month (April 19)
From 10:00 to 11:30 in the morning, tens of thousands of singers sang on the Wengni River. Tens of thousands of singers of the Miao nationality from the nine branches of the Taijiang River gathered on both sides of the Wengni River, presenting the ancient songs of the Miao nationality, multi-voiced love songs of the Miao nationality, and the wine of the Miao nationality. Songs, Feige duets, etc., fully demonstrate the rich and colorful ethnic culture of the Miao people in Taijiang.
Location: On both sides of Wengni River between Taigong Bridge and Xinfengfeng Bridge in Taijiang County.
From 14:00 to 18:00 in the afternoon, Miao nationality handicraft (silver jewelry, embroidery, batik) creative competition, location: Meimei Street, Taijiang County.
20:00~21:30 in the evening, bonfire party, location: Xiumei Square, Taigong Bridge Wengni Riverside Small Square.
three. Lunar March 16th and 17th (April 20th and 21st)
Content: Miao clothing display, thousands of people drumming, Miao love song duet, canoe dragon boat performance, bonfire party, and sister meal.
