Palace Museum (first-class museum)

The Palace Museum is the largest domestic museum, and is also known as the first of the five largest palaces in the world (the Forbidden City in Beijing, the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom, the White House in the United States, and the Kremlin in Russia), and is a world cultural heritage.

The Forbidden City was built in the eighteenth year of Yongle (1420) in the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of 600 years. It used to be the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It used to be called the Forbidden City, and 24 emperors lived there.

Scenery at the noon gate.

Overlook video of the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City.

The Forbidden City is the essence of ancient Chinese palace architecture, and it is also one of the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

Tourists enter the Forbidden City to visit, one is to see the palace buildings; the other is to see the former dynasty of the emperor and ministers (outer court); the third is to see the queen's and concubine's living quarters (inner court); the fourth is to see the collection and exhibition of cultural relics in the Forbidden City. The fifth is to buy some cultural and creative works exclusive to the Forbidden City.

The former dynasty mainly looked at the three halls of Taihe, Zhonghe, and Baohe.

On the two wings of the three halls, there are two halls of Wenhua and Wuying to see.

The well-known "Military Aircraft Office" located next to the Qianqing Gate is pitifully small, just a row of small bungalows, and the relationship between the emperor and his officials is like this.

The back bedroom mainly looks at the three palaces of Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Palace, and Kunning Palace. The folk saying "three palaces and six courtyards" refers to these three palaces.

The three palaces of the back bedroom are the places where the emperor handles daily government affairs and lives with the empress. The "Kunning Palace" where the queen lives has a huge hall and great power.

The two wings of the three major palaces are the living palaces for the concubines, including the East Sixth Palace and the West Sixth Palace. These palaces are much smaller, and compared with the Kunning Palace, there is a world of difference. For example, the "Chengqian Palace" next to Kunning Palace is a small four harmony courtyard. No wonder the battle between the queen and the concubines was fierce, and everyone wanted to move into a big house.

With the popularity of Gongdou drama, some palaces in the East Sixth Palace and West Sixth Palace have also become Internet celebrity palaces, such as "Yanxi Palace" has become a popular check-in place.

The Forbidden City has permanent cultural relics exhibition halls, such as Treasure Hall, Drama Hall, Stone Drum Hall, Clock Hall, Calligraphy and Painting Hall, Ceramics Hall, Sculpture Hall, Ancient Building Hall, Bronze Ware Hall, Armament Hall, Furniture Hall, etc.

The Meridian Gate, Zhai Palace, Yongshou Palace, Shenwu Gate, Jingren Palace and other exhibition halls of the Forbidden City will hold temporary exhibitions from time to time, such as "Dan Chen Yonggu - Six Centennial Exhibition of the Forbidden City", and will also cooperate with foreign museums from time to time. Exhibition.

Video of the Six Centennial Exhibition of the Forbidden City.

The Forbidden City is very large. It is said that there are 9999 and a half rooms in the palace, which is called "the sea of palaces". The time to visit the Forbidden City can be long or short. Half a day is not enough for a rough look, and one day is not enough for a close look.

The broadcast of Gongdou Opera has made many Internet celebrity check-in places appear in the Forbidden City. With the check-in map, many tourists check-in according to the map.

One of the Internet celebrity check-in places, Persimmon Red Wall.

From time to time in the Forbidden City, there will be beauties in costumes or Manchu costumes, shuttling among tourists, taking pictures and live broadcasting.

In recent years, it has become a fashion to go to the Forbidden City to wear checkered clothes for photography.

Even the grandma came to check in.

The Forbidden City is not only a museum, but also a national 5A-level tourist attraction, so you need to buy tickets to enter the Forbidden City, 60 yuan/person in peak season (April-October), 40 yuan/person in off-season (November-March), over 60 years old Seniors are free. In addition, there is an additional charge for entering the Treasure Hall and the Clock Hall, 10 yuan per person for each hall.

With the marketing of the Forbidden City and the development of the Internet, more and more Internet celebrities live live in the Forbidden City. In November 2020, when it first snowed in Beijing, outside the gate of the Forbidden City, there was a long line of princesses, as if there were no normal tourists.
