A few days ago, my girlfriends got together and talked about the self-driving tour around Taiwan in October 2019. I lamented that I took the last train of Taiwan's free travel at that time, because from August 1, 2019, the pilot individual travel for mainland residents to Taiwan was suspended. We are already ready to go, and we have already applied for a travel permit to Taiwan and a valid G visa, so it will not be affected. After applying for the Taiwan Entry Permit normally, you can travel freely in Taiwan!
My best friend, my best friend and my husband have traveled in groups for many times. My best friend and her husband Lao Zhao are the guides of our team. We have left our happy footprints in many places in Tibet, Australia and Fujian. This trip was also initiated and arranged by the two of them, including air tickets, car booking, hotel accommodation, etc. As long as the physical strength can keep up, follow in their footsteps, you don’t need to worry about anything, it’s a relaxing, pure trip , must be praised.
Taking advantage of the "October" holiday in 2019, four of us and one car completed a round-the-island trip in Taiwan in 11 days. We were deeply impressed by the charming island style, and also had a correct positioning for the long-established Taiwanese snacks.
Day 1 Taipei
When we arrived in Taipei at noon, we rented a car first. The procedures were convenient and we picked up the car soon. Unexpectedly, the mainland driver's license (+ translation) cannot be used in Taiwan, which means that Lao Zhao, who has an international driver's license, will drive the whole journey by himself, hard work!
First go to the Shilin Mansion in light rain. This is the home of Chiang Kai-shek and Song Meiling in Taiwan. The couple moved in in 1950 and lived here for 26 years.

Day 2 Taipei to Taichung
The National Palace Museum in Taipei, the exterior is a traditional Chinese palace building
The number of cultural relics in the collection reaches more than 655,000, covering the entire 5,000-year civilization history of the Chinese nation from the Xia Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and even including the ancient Yanhuang period.

To Taichung, the time is still early, go to Tunghai University.
Tunghai University is the first private university in Taiwan and is known as "the most beautiful university in Taiwan". The fresh and quiet campus scenery is matched with the simple and elegant Tang Dynasty-style school buildings.
The campus is home to the landmark of Taichung City—Lu Siyi Church, which was designed by the famous Chinese architect I.M. Pei.

Day 3 Taichung to Alishan
The designer of Zhongtai Temple, Mr. Li Zuyuan, is also the designer of Taipei 101 Building. The famous "Heshi Stupa" in Xi'an Famen Temple was also designed by Mr. Li. To be honest, I don't like his design style very much.
The tall marble building and the gilded lotus flower top of the temple should symbolize the firmness of practice and the eternity of Buddhism.

The well-known Sun Moon Lake seems to us to be an ordinary lake, and the scenery is far from beautiful.
The Man Mo Temple next to it has a magnificent layout, facing south from the north, backed by mountains, with a famous pool in the forecourt, and a magnificent atmosphere.
Climbing up the steps is the main hall with yellow tiles and red columns, which is exquisitely carved.
Sun Moon Lake Xiangshan Tourist Service Center is a modern building with a strong artistic atmosphere, consisting of two huge "V" shaped buildings that overlap lightly.

Anping Castle is the first castle in Taiwan's history. It was built during the Dutch rule. It was demolished during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, leaving only a mottled city wall surrounded by old banyan trees.

Day 5 Tainan to Kaohsiung
Founded by the contemporary eminent monk Master Xingyun, Foguang Temple is the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan.

Take the "Gushan Ferry" in Kaohsiung City to arrive at Cijin. Rent a bicycle and walk along the old street to the seaside park.

Day 7 Kenting to Hualien

Sanxiantai is composed of coral reef coast, gravel coast and offshore islands. The pedestrian walkway bridge connects the offshore islands. The shape is wavy, dazzling!

Day 8 Hualien to Keelung
The scenery of Taroko Scenic Area is mainly characterized by mountains and valleys. The mountains are not climbed. Looking at the valleys, the scenery is quite ordinary.
The Qingshui Cliff is majestic, and the cliff near the sea plunges into the Pacific Ocean at a 90-degree angle, with a height of more than 800 meters. It is known as the second largest cliff in the world. The coastal road has no way here, and the road can only be built by drilling rock on the cliff.
Day 9 Keelung to Taipei

Yehliu Geopark Rock Taiwan's most prestigious geopark, walking among the mushroom rocks is like being in a fantasy.

The rock surface here looks clean and soft like the sand on the beach, but it is hard to the touch.
Go to Jiufen Old Street on the Pingxi Line. The building complex is built along the terrain and along the mountain. It retains the old buildings from the Japanese colonial era. The main thing here is to go shopping on the old street and add snacks.
Shifen Waterfall: You can hear the sound of the waterfall when you enter the scenic spot, and you can reach the viewing platform on the top of the waterfall by going down the steps.
Arriving at the Waterfall Watching Tower at the bottom, the "Shifen Waterfall" is oncoming. Although it is not shocking, it has the charm of rushing down.
Arrive in Taipei in the afternoon and go to the 101 building to watch the sunset.
There are not many skyscrapers in Taipei, but the 101 building is definitely outstanding, and it can be seen in many places in the urban area.
The multi-section shape implies the image of "rising steadily, flowers blooming and wealth", and each section also has the meaning of the Chinese "Ding"
