Overall self-driving tour route map planning
Since the holiday time is relatively long, I made the itinerary very relaxed and leisurely. For those who are in a hurry, 10 days for this route is almost enough!
This route is a leisure tour integrating karst landform landscape + canyon + waterfall + Fanghua shooting station + terraced fields + ancient city + lake + food. There are not many people and the road is easy to drive. Friends who have experienced it in other places in Yunnan can consider this southeast ring road in Yunnan (the direction starts from Kunming Airport and travels clockwise).
Without further ado, let’s go to the self-driving route map first! ! I have read a lot of travel notes and guides for self-driving tours, but what bothers me the most is that everyone doesn’t put a map on the route, so I drew one myself, including the number of days to visit and the journey time. Since it is my own self-driving, the driving arrangement is relatively easy, and I basically don't drive late at night after dark.
Luoping, Yunnan
After arriving in Kunming, rent a car at the airport and head all the way to Luoping. In fact, the most suitable season for tourism in Luoping is the rape flowering period from February to March every year, and the red sorghum period in September every autumn. The reason why I chose to go in June is because it is cheaper to do everything after the epidemic recovers, so I should relax. I chose to live in the village below Jinji Ridge. The mountain behind the hotel can actually be climbed up to overlook the entire Jinji Ridge. Since I climbed halfway up the mountain, a Taoist nun stopped me and asked me to pay 10 yuan for the ticket, so I came down resentfully. Since this is my first stop to see the peaks of the karst landform, I am still very excited. It is recommended to play for 1-2 days.
Yunnan Jiulong Waterfall
Jiulong Waterfall is located in Luoping, and it can be reached from Jinji Ridge in half an hour by car. There will be many adults and children at the door dragging you to be your tour guide, but there is no need to invite them. If it takes time and physical strength to walk through the ten large and small waterfalls, please forgive me and go to the waterfall with the largest drop and come back. There is a small train going up the mountain that is quite beautiful (shown in the above video). You can sit up and see the whole picture, and then walk down to save energy.
Guizhou Xingyi Maling River Grand Canyon
Going from Luoping to Xingyi is really another destination in my mind, but believe me, it is definitely worth the trip. Please forgive me that I have never heard of the Malinghe Grand Canyon before I went. But it is said that CCTV has often reported on this spectacle of the address. It takes at least 2 hours to go back and forth, and it is also the saddest tourist attraction I have ever visited. After walking, I was really drenched all over. It is recommended that everyone wear rainproof hats and shoes! But when you can't walk, you will suddenly find the magnificent Vientiane Pentium Waterfall rushing down! I have always lamented that my literary attainment is too low for that grandeur, and I can't describe one-tenth of its momentum at all. Go straight to the video.
Wanfeng Forest in Xingyi, Guizhou
In fact, Wanfenglin was a scenic spot where I planted grass when I saw my father go in the early years. At that time, I had an indescribable liking for this kind of karst landscape. The magnificence of Wanfeng Forest lies in its unique landforms that stretch endlessly and are isolated into peaks. Walking through the paddy field paths, it is very comfortable to live in a homestay surrounded by the front and back Wanfeng forests with the doors and windows open. Waking up in the morning to breathe the fresh air and have breakfast on the terrace is really pleasant.
Wanfeng Lake, Xingyi, Guizhou
Friends who don’t have enough time, I really don’t recommend driving dozens of kilometers to and from Wanfeng Lake. Because apart from some stone forests, the rest of this lake is indeed unremarkable. If you like to take a boat and go deep into the mountains and rivers, you may have different feelings. But if you like this kind of landform, I actually recommend our beautiful Qiandao Lake. Let me show you a photo.
Yunnan Puzhehei
Puzhehei is also a paradise where my father went to plant grass. What's more, unlike Wanfenglin, Puzhehei is surrounded by water system. It's a special feeling to take a boat and sway among the lotus leaves in the early morning. Before the sun sets, climb up Qinglong Mountain and overlook the whole picture of Puzhehei, which makes people feel a lot of emotion. The mountain climbs quickly and is not high. But in fact, the sunset cannot be seen on the mountain due to the shade of trees. At the foot of the mountain are stretches of rice fields and lotus ponds, and those who have plenty of time even bring fishing rods to catch small fish in the lake. There are also restaurants and bars in both villages. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows of the B & B room I live in is a large grass lotus, with leisurely buffaloes and maroon horses forming an interesting contrast. You can sit for an afternoon by making a pot of tea quietly by the window.
Mengzi Bisezhai
Mengzi's rice noodles and Bisezhai Station, where Fanghua was filmed, made this small place a must-see attraction. I won’t say much about how delicious the rice noodles in Yunnan are. I deliberately chose a small restaurant where the locals eat. Following their example, I chose a bowl of rice noodles full of ingredients, and the price was only 10 yuan when I asked! Bisezhai Railway Station was a historical witness of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway at that time. There were small shops nearby that rented cheongsams and student clothes of the Republic of China. Renting a set of clothes was not expensive. You can feel that feeling.
Mengzi rice noodles that make people drool!
Yuanyang Rice Terraces
Yuanyang Rice Terraces are quite disappointing. It's not that I didn't see bad scenery during the irrigation period, but as a 4A-level scenic spot, the infrastructure construction is very settled and the management is chaotic. The signage is not clear at all and it is easy to find where you want to go. In the Yuanyang terraced fields, you will find that there are many accommodation gathering areas. Friends who don’t know how to choose where to live can refer to whether you want to watch the sunrise or the sunset. For patients like me who have trouble getting up, living near Duoyishu Scenic Area is the best choice! After walking through several viewing spots, I still feel that the Bada scenic spot is the most spectacular.
Jianshui Ancient City
Before arriving in Jianshui, I really didn't like tofu. After arriving in Jianshui, baked tofu dipped in spicy dipping water and served with very refreshing papaya water, I can’t do without them almost every meal! Move a small bench and sit in front of the boss's stall, eat a tofu and count a grain of corn. I really wonder how the boss can take care of so many mouths and how much he eats? The Jianshui small train is also very worth experiencing. After getting on the slow train, it really feels like traveling through history. On the way back from playing, you will definitely be shaken to sleep soon~
Fuxian Lake
Fuxian Lake is really the last stop I arranged for this itinerary to adjust and rest. Living in an apartment with a view of the lake through the window, sleeping until waking up naturally, and eating takeaways probably refers to the way of travel of contemporary youth like us. What surprised me the most was not how beautiful the lake is, but that there is a plateau freshwater diving project in the Star Cave Scenic Area to experience. Then of course I can't miss this opportunity! Diving deep to 10 meters underwater, looking at the herring fish schools and aquatic plants with very high visibility, I overcame my fear of ear pressure and deep water. The moment I returned to the surface, I really felt that I had transformed!
Yunnan Stone Forest
Of course, on the way back, I also went to the famous Yunnan Stone Forest. This is also the place where I encountered the most tourist groups during the entire itinerary after the epidemic.
Kunming
Since I have been to Kunming several times, and have been to many scenic spots, large and small, this time I will arrange it at the Dounan Flower Market! For people like me who love flowers, the Dounan Flower Market is simply heaven, and after 11:00 p.m., you can really pick up a lot of unwanted flowers, and you can use them if you pick them. But even if you buy it, it is very and super cheap! The Dounan Flower Market, which is sold by the catty, is every girl’s dream garden.
Finish
Soon the 14-day solo self-driving tour came to an end. Since the tourism industry has not recovered after the epidemic, the scenic spots are either free or half price. You can live in a very good homestay for one or two hundred yuan, and renting a car is only 21 yuan. One day, plus I bought all kinds of souvenirs and sent flowers back in boxes, I spent more than 8,000 in total. The self-driving tour alone made me feel a lot. Is there any hurdle that I can't overcome by myself? Girls themselves are strong, and when they look down, they will find that: they will be the top of the mountain, and they will see all the mountains and small things at a glance.
