This event is divided into four events: sprint race, confrontation race, obstacle race and long-distance race. Yushu, with an average altitude of 4,500 meters, is the birthplace of the three major rivers: the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River. With the "innate advantages" of geographical conditions, Yushu and the International Rafting Federation held the Rafting World Cup in 2016. This is the first time this event has been held in China. It is also the first time in the history of the Rafting World Cup that it will be held in a city above 4,000 meters above sea level.
In 2018, Yushu State and the International Rafting Federation joined hands again. After the first rafting in China in 2015, the 2016 Yushu Rafting World Cup and the 2017 National SUP Club League, Yushu has accumulated a certain amount of experience in the operation of international high-level rafting events. In addition to improving the infrastructure of the rafting track and other venues this year, the organizing committee also carried out professional rafting lifesaving training and emergency support for plateau events.
