On the second day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Pig, we took a quick and easy trip: starting from Beijing by car, the destination was Baishishan Scenic Area, Laiyuan County, Baoding City.
Baishi Mountain is the end of Taihang Mountain. It is named because of the white marble on the mountain. It has always been called "Little Yellow Mountain in the North". In 2017, it was rated as a national 5A-level scenic spot.

I made some preparations before departure: From the Ctrip website, I ordered a double package (worth 315 yuan), including "Baishi Mountain Scenic Spot Ticket + Baishi Mountain Mountain Cableway Ticket + Ten Waterfall Gorge Scenic Spot Ticket", which is obviously cheaper than usual. Of course, Also because of the low season.

At 8:30 in the morning, a family of three, with thick clothes and pants, first went to the North Fifth Ring Road, then went to the Beijing-Kunming Expressway via the West Fifth Ring Road, switched to the Rongwu Expressway, took a short section of National Highway 207, turned to the Xiayin Line, and walked to see Baishi Mountain , turn right to the small road and go straight to the east gate of the scenic spot. The east gate is the main entrance of Baishi Mountain Scenic Area. There are both uphill buses (30 minutes) and uphill cable cars (8 minutes). The west gate has cable cars and walking paths: Most travel guide articles recommend entering from the east gate. Too.
As we approached the scenic spot, we only saw a vast expanse of rime, and the temperature was cold. My wife was afraid of the cold and even retreated. Fortunately, there are plenty of clothes to carry, my child and I persisted, and finally agreed: first go up the mountain to have a look, if the cold can't stand it, we will go down the mountain and go home early.
When we arrived, we first looked for the parking lot. The standard parking lot in the scenic spot is not very obvious. In addition, there were many people blocking the car on the side of the road. Parking lot in Zone D (5 yuan for unlimited time); the crossing to the gate of the scenic spot is also open on the side of this small road.
After 12 noon, I parked the car and was already hungry. I just drove and turned around this uphill road. There are places to eat and stay on both sides. We were too lazy to climb uphill to eat, so we chose the nearest noodle shop. They have a special food - dumplings stuffed with wild leeks. I ordered a plate when I went up. It tastes good, but I can’t tell whether it’s wild leeks or home-made leeks.
It was 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we hurried into the scenic spot, walked a few sections according to the instructions, and came to the ticket office: there were no people, so there was no need to line up. Buy a children's ticket for the child plus a mountain cableway ticket (full price of Xiangyunmen Cableway is 70 yuan, half price is 35 yuan), including insurance for a total of 88 yuan. The cableway is equipped with 8 people as standard, and there are few people during the Chinese New Year. A family of three sits in a cableway car. For the first 6 minutes, they all rose in the rime-filled atmosphere. Although I kept telling them the fun of rime, my heart was still heavy: whoever catches up with this day will be heavy, right?
In the last 2 minutes, the situation changed suddenly: as the cable car went up, the clouds and mist quickly receded; we were in the clouds, feeling the large sea of clouds up close, and the top of our heads had turned into azure blue, and our mood immediately improved!
After leaving the Xiangyunmen cableway station, there is only a small wind of level 1~2, which feels great! Go down from the cableway station and go down to the side of the road that continues to go up the mountain. On the left, you can see the yard where the bus stops, and there is a sign pointing to the popular hotel "Shangyunjian Hotel" on the mountain; there is a ticket booth on the opposite side of the road. Going up, there is a wooden trail leading to the "leek garden" on the mountain, which is not steep but very gentle.
Walking to the leek garden, I found a viewing platform, which can be used as the starting point of the three tour routes of the scenic spot "1600 meters, 1900 meters, and 2000 meters" (corresponding to the orange line, black line, and green line in the figure below). According to the strategy, we chose the best route - 1900 meters. It is said that it is most suitable for the elderly and children, and the general tour takes 3 to 4 hours. (The price is that you can only see half of the attractions in the scenic area... and we went directly to the original road and returned without a loop.)
On the viewing platform, there is an exhibition of Chinese iron shoes. The old man happened to be there, but there was no performance, just a simple exchange with everyone. A few steps further, there is a statue of Taihang Patriarch, rough and majestic, feeding money to the golden toad. .
Starting from the leek garden, first pass the "Little Cave" scenic spot, which is this green cave, and there are other colorful roads inside, children like it very much.
This is called "Dolphin Out of Water", and the proportion of the mouth is quite in line with that of a dolphin; if it is longer, it can be called "Giant Crocodile Exploring the Sky", haha!
This huge valley is called "Leping Valley". The highlight is a series of screen-like steep peaks in the sea of clouds. Comparing the pictures and texts of the on-site introduction of the scenic spot, I found that the cloud is heavy today, and I only saw the "leader" in the "list screen", and the other peaks have been covered by clouds and mist.
A cliff that can only be passed sideways is called "Sideways Cliff". This is a photo I took halfway down the return journey. I said to the few children who passed by that I should "pay attention to quality" next time!
Look, "Jiang Taigong Fishing"! In China's thousands of years of history, Jiang Taigong is the only person who is famous for fishing ("kitten" is not counted~); what I am more interested in is, how did that fishing rod come from?
This is called "Mantou Stone", and some steamed bun-shaped buns emerge from the stone. According to the pictures and texts on the scene, it was formed by ancient beach deposits. These "steamed buns" are fossils formed by ancient blue-green algae, and may also be the earliest fossils. Going down in winter, there is no protection on the side of the steps and aisles (it is naturally blocked by trees in summer), which is more dangerous.
This is called "Bajie Marries a Wife", showing the form of "carrying a wife" For hundreds of years, the most famous person who married a wife and carried a wife is the second brother, but the IP (celebrity story) is a bit old, and brother Jie is relatively thin.
Fengyunjihui: This scenic spot is very famous, but unfortunately we didn't recognize it, so we didn't take a picture. I would like to share a concept: it is after the clouds and fog formed at the southern foot of Baishi Mountain, driven by the southeast wind, they tried to cross the ridge. In the front-line confrontation of Qingyun Peak, with the change of cold and warm air currents, the clouds rise and fall, advance and retreat, gather like a mantle, disperse like butterflies, and the strange peaks flicker.
"Ice Falls", this is what I named, only in winter, the children like it very much. Although there is water dripping down, it is presumed that it was made manually.
The following one can be said to be "two scenes in one picture", the first scene is "Shuangxiongshi", and the second scene is "hanging stone". The "Shuangxiong Stones" are two giant stones that "stand shoulder to shoulder". The on-site graphic explanation mentions the allusion of Yang Jiajiang, but it is somewhat similar.
Take a closer look at the "hanging stone": although it is suspended in the air, the time has not yet come, and when the time comes, it will fall down~
The name "Tianyi with seams" is a good name, because "One Line of Sky" is a bit of a bad name~ It is rumored that fairy clothes are not sewn with needles and threads, so they are seamless; but we walked by here, and no fairy girl saw it here!

Baishi Mountain's "Shuangxiongshi glass plank road" has a good reputation, "the longest, widest and highest suspended glass plank road in China", "the altitude reaches 1900 meters, and the total length is 95 meters after completion, and the width is 2 meters". up to 1000 kg". Here it is. In fact, some people are quite afraid when they leave. For example, my wife holds my hand stiffly and dare not relax at all. Let me perfectly act as a "safe and good husband"~
This rhubarb, which seems to be raised by the waiter in the "Shuangxiongshi Snack City", wanders around and runs back and forth on the plank road. Have fun.
The scenic spot also has the only "double-layer glass covered bridge" in the country, which is located on the tour route at an altitude of 1600 meters, opposite the "cliff promenade" scenic spot, and behind the "immortal drying boots" scenic spot. The total length is 200 meters, including 120 meters of glass plank road, and a double-layer glass corridor bridge, with an upper floor of 42 meters and a lower floor of 38 meters. Tourists can walk up and down separately and interact through transparent glass, which is very interesting. It's a pity we didn't go this time. .
When we walked from Shuangxiongshi to the plank road, we saw the graphic introduction sign of "Red Birch Forest". When we returned from the plank road, we walked from the edge of "Red Birch Forest". There are white birch forests everywhere in the Northeast of my country. This is the first time I have seen this red birch forest. I suggest that Brother Pu Shu come here someday to catch inspiration and sing "Red Birch Forest". Come out, quack~
We continued to return the same way, went down from the leek garden to the ticket office near Xiangyun Gate, and bought three bus tickets, 30 yuan per person (the same price for children), a total of 90 yuan. The bus was full of people, with a drop of hundreds of meters, and the speed was very fast. We soon returned to the "rime", feeling the white fog and descending the mountain. When entering the station, the driver came up with a 270-degree spinning wheel, and I quickly closed my eyes to avoid dizziness; my wife and children sat in the first row, so it was okay; there was a girl, who should be sitting in the back row, and she was holding a tree when she got off the car. The tree spits there. After 5 o'clock in the afternoon, it was already late, we didn't go to Shipu Gorge, and ran to Laiyuan County with reluctance to settle down.
There was a gas station on the way back, we quickly filled up the gas, and continued on the road in the dark. .
Summary
1. The Baishi Mountain Scenic Area is actually divided into upper and lower layers. The lower layer is the granite mountain (the place surrounded by clouds and mist); the upper layer is the top of the Dolomite Mountain (the place where the sky is blue), and the main attractions are on the top of the mountain. There are several tour routes around several large valleys. I remember the names of Yunpan Valley, Leping Valley, etc.~
2. Most of the scenic spots are the rocks on the top of Baishi Mountain. After being eroded and weathered by natural forces, they have formed familiar forms of things, aroused imagination, and become various scenic spots.
3. Compared with most famous mountains, Baishi Mountain has less characteristic IP resources (celebrities and stories), so it will be at a disadvantage in external publicity and promotion.
4. Speaking of the comparison with Huangshan, the stones in Baishi Mountain are really similar to those of Shixin Peak and Bijia Peak in Huangshan. It may be that the seasonal weather is not right, but there are no similarities in other aspects. .
5. When driving down the silver line to Baishi Mountain, I saw a large tourist center of Baishi Mountain Scenic Area, but G was still 9 kilometers away from the east gate of the scenic spot from the navigation, so I didn't go there. After I came back, I searched according to the map and found that it should be the tourist center of Baishi Mountain Scenic Area. I didn't expect it to be so far away from the gate of the scenic spot.
6. When I climbed Mount Emei back then, I walked from Jieyin Hall to Jinding. I turned my head inadvertently and saw the sea of clouds dissipating. It was a pity. From the beginning to the end of this trip to Baishi Mountain, I really saw the sea of clouds, which is presumably determined by the topography.
Supplementary Note
1. The scenery of Baishi Mountain is all on the top of the mountain. It is recommended to go up the mountain by bus or cableway; if you want to climb up by yourself, I heard that it will take 3 to 4 hours to climb. The average altitude of Laiyuan is 1,000 meters, and the highest peak of Baishi Mountain, Foguangding, is 2,096 meters above sea level, so the overall height difference is several hundred meters.
2. The overall price of hotels in Laiyuan County is not high. The standard room for fast brands such as Super 8 and Home Inns is only 100 yuan; The room is only 280 yuan, which is really cheap compared with Beijing, and of course it has something to do with the off-season.
On Baishi Mountain, there is a Shangyunjian Hotel, which is an online celebrity hotel. The price is expensive, but the location is good, so the view is very good. It can be understood as a row of wooden houses on the top of the mountain.
3. The toilets in Baishishan Scenic Area are not bad, especially the toilets near the leek garden. They are well heated, clean and hygienic, and feel comfortable. There are no print advertisements for toilets that are common in the city. The scenic area may not have developed this area yet.
4. The three tour routes correspond to the three color lines in the picture below. We basically started from the black line, went back to the original road, and returned to the Shuangxiong glass plank road before we finished walking. If you choose two of the lines to play together, one goes and the other goes back, it will form a loop, which will of course take more time. Moreover, the scenic spot reminds that the upper and lower lines are under maintenance, and only the middle line can be used. During the tour, I also saw several abandoned tourist passages, or stairs, which were a little messy~
