Northwest-Qinghai, for us who grew up on the southeast coast, there is always some mysterious and magnificent feeling, and we always yearn for it; After experiencing Shangri-La for a while, we realized that we can also try areas with a certain altitude. After going around and thinking about it, our family of three decided to take a trip to Qinghai this summer.

More than three months in advance, I checked all kinds of Qinghai travel information and strategies on major websites, public accounts, and self-media. Considering air tickets, distances to scenic spots, lovers and children, and my own relaxation style, etc., I made a plan to start in Lanzhou. , through Xiahe, Regong Tongren, Guide, Chaka, Gangcha, Qilian, Menyuan, Xining, and then return to Qinghai Lake in Lanzhou and some small ring roads in Gannan. The average daily driving distance is about 200 kilometers , a city every day, and the scenery of this line is relatively different every day, which is very suitable for us.

2. Traffic

1) Air ticket

When traveling far away, most of the air tickets are unavoidable expenses. Summer air tickets are always more expensive than usual. I originally planned to fly to Xining and only play in Qinghai Province, but the air tickets from Xiamen to Xining are really not cheap, and the direct flight (need to stop ) there are very few flights, so I chose Lanzhou, which is relatively cheap and has many flights (although it is also very expensive), and added some routes to Gannan to enrich the entire itinerary. The direct flight from Xiamen to Lanzhou requires a stopover. If you choose the flight, you can arrive in Lanzhou around noon and return to Xiamen in the evening to make full use of your travel time. I have observed and tracked the air tickets for July on various platforms for three months, and the price has never been too high. Changes, the basic per capita is around 2,400 yuan (a few days before departure, there may be some final tickets released with a relative low of around 2,100 yuan, but this situation is rare and the risk is high), if you choose August, the price will be slightly lower The low point is around 2,200 yuan, but in August, many rapeseed flowers in Qinghai Lake have begun to wither. If you need to see rapeseed flowers, July is the most suitable time. The non-peak season air ticket is much cheaper at around 1,300 yuan, which is a whole less than 1,000 yuan per person. Ah, we can only look at it with envy; in the end, we booked a flight ticket that leaves early and returns late, costing 7200+.

2) Rent a car

Book the itinerary early, check and compare it on various car rental platforms, and check the road conditions and vehicle selection of the relevant routes at the same time. Based on my own needs, I booked a Buick Hideo (1.5 automatic) on a car rental in a certain state nearly two months in advance, 9 Today, the rent, vehicle insurance and service fees totaled 1288 yuan, about 143 yuan per person, which is a good price. Later, I saw that the price of the same car has been rising slowly. In mid-July, the rent alone will cost nearly 300 yuan a day. Therefore, if you rent a car for self-driving, book your itinerary early. In peak season, the earlier you book the car, the better. Ctrip has a lot of choices on major domestic car rental platforms, and you can book about 4 months in advance. You can rent a car 3 months in advance. Book around 1 month, car rental in a certain state can only be agreed 2 months in advance at the earliest, and the choice can be considered comprehensively according to actual needs.

3. Accommodation

Self-driving tour, the luggage follows, this trip, one city per day, the accommodation is different every day, there are hotels, homestays, inns, youth hostels, and farmhouses. The 11-day trip has experienced a variety of different accommodation experiences. It is also very interesting; it is still an old habit to book accommodation, check it on major platforms, book the accommodation with free cancellation two or three months in advance, and continue to pay attention to the changes in the accommodation price in the future, and adjust it in time. If there are changes in the itinerary later, you can also adjust it It is relatively cost-effective to book in advance, especially in peak seasons such as summer vacation. The total cost of 10-day accommodation for this trip is 2036 yuan, the most expensive is 283 yuan/night for tea card accommodation, and the cheapest Gangcha Youth Hostel is 137 yuan/night .

1) Accommodation in Lanzhou

Be sure to take good sun protection, high-factor sunscreen, sunscreen clothing, sunglasses, sun hat, etc. Due to the problem of the angle of the sun at high latitudes, as a driver, no matter whether you drive Which direction, the sun can always shine on me, so I didn’t protect myself from sun protection, and my skin began to peel on a large scale on the fourth day, so I must do a good job of sun protection, especially the driver. The Qinghai area belongs to the plateau, and the prevention of high altitude sickness is the focus of this trip. It takes a day or two to get used to a slight high altitude sickness. 5) Catering

In Northwest China, most of the meals are beef, mutton, and pasta, mainly Sichuan, Halal, and Tibetan dishes, with fewer vegetables and salty tastes; the prices of the dishes are moderate, and our family of three does not eat much, so we spend the most on this trip The meal is only 209 yuan, and the desert barbecue is eaten. The total cost of meals in 11 days is 2019 yuan, and the daily average is less than 200 yuan, which is cost-effective.

6) Tickets

Tickets can basically be purchased online now, and many tickets can be issued in real time. It does not necessarily need to be purchased in advance. It can be determined according to the actual situation of the itinerary. There are not many tickets that need to be purchased for this itinerary. The main ones are as follows:

a. Labrang Monastery

It is free to enter Labrang Monastery without tickets, but some Buddhist temples need to buy tickets to enter and visit. Seeing that there are quite a lot of people, it should be good. The owner added a table outside and ordered various dishes. A variety of skewers, sheep skeleton, Yellow River fruit beer, etc., totaling 128 yuan, very cost-effective, delicious, large portion, good to eat, because I had to drive in the desert last time, I didn’t drink the Yellow River fruit beer. Great with grilled skewers. This nearly 2,000-kilometer Northwest self-driving trip ended successfully with a blissful meal and a glass of fruit beer for the three of them.

I woke up after a good night's sleep. I didn't have much to do today. After packing up and checking out, I left my luggage at the hotel. Since trains and planes can't carry oxygen cylinders, I bought the oxygen cylinders I just purchased and haven't used them yet. Shout out to the hotel owner; I went out to the small shop next to the hotel and had a chaotic breakfast, which was not bad. I bought the train to Zhongchuan Airport at 14:33 in the afternoon. It was still early, so I walked around the streets of residential areas in Lanzhou. Not far away, there is a Hejiazhuang convenience vegetable market. A nice place to experience local life.

At lunch time, I wandered back to the hotel and ordered cold noodles and rice with potatoes and beef in a halal noodle restaurant next to it. The total was 28 yuan. After dinner, go back to the hotel to pick up your luggage, and take the intercity train to Zhongchuan Airport Station at the nearby Lanzhou Railway Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. It was the first time for Lanzhou to return to Xiamen by Shandong Airlines. It was not bad, and the service attitude was very good. They would ask if they needed help. They took off on time at 18:00, stopped at Guilin Shuangjiang Airport, and landed safely in Xiamen 15 minutes earlier.
