Travel to Kashgar, a small border town,

That is definitely the unpopular among the unpopular.

People who go there are probably the same as me,

More or less with a point of mind to explore the mystery.

It took nearly 8 hours to fly from Shanghai to Kashgar, with a transfer in Xi'an or Urumqi on the way, which is enough time to fly to many countries around the world, so people who regard Kashgar as a tourist destination must have an attitude.

The city of Kashgar itself does not have any good-looking scenery. The good scenery is only a few hours away by car, and the charm of Kashgar lies in its humanistic color.

The movie "The Kite Runner" poster

It is said that the movie "The Kite Runner" was partly filmed in Kashgar due to the war in Afghanistan at the time. After the trip, when I watched the movie, I found that most of the filming was in Taxkorgan County, which is The place I want to share in my next article, this article focuses on sharing Kashgar. After all, as a transit city for travel, it still has a particularly strong humanistic color. Kashgar 24 hours starts now!

DAY 1

Before going to the Pamirs, the most important stop is Kashgar. It is inevitable to stay in this city for two nights, one night when going, and one night when returning. There are no distinctive hotels in Kashgar, and most of them have a hotel atmosphere. On the contrary, the homestays in the ancient city are more special.

12:00 Kashgar Yuli Sanqianji Homestay

When my friends and I arrived at the B&B, the boss was preparing to pick up the children who were about to leave school. After checking in, she left in a hurry, so the whole B&B became our world. Before leaving, the boss asked us to call her if there are other guests staying. This shows that the homestay is basically a semi-self-service form.

The B&B is located in the ancient city, with a total of 9 rooms. The Moroccan courtyard style combined with the regional characteristics of Kashgar, for those who like to make movies, they should be able to create a lot of blockbusters here.

However, the guest room is very ordinary. Although it has the bathroom space of modern life, it is very simple. The floor is a little slippery when exposed to water, so be careful when bathing.

On the terrace on the roof, you can enjoy a lot of traditional buildings with exotic styles. It is also pleasant to sit and eat and drink in the evening.

14:00 Stroll through the ancient city

There are many shops in the ancient city of Kashgar. Don’t be eager to find the pure tradition. The streets with strong commercial attributes will have more or less modern shadows. If you want to enjoy the ancient city, you have to calm down and explore slowly.

Children chasing around, tinkling coppersmiths and blacksmiths, various hat shops, and traditional musical instrument shops may all attract your attention.

Compared with the shops above, most tourists are more interested in exploring local delicacies.

Baked naan, baked eggs, mutton skewers, cold rice dumplings, hot and spicy lamb feet, pork belly wrapped in lamb belly, pigeon soup, sliced cakes, etc., eat all the way, and you will be full if you are not careful. Speaking of taste, after all, it is the style of the Western Regions. Only after trying it will you know whether you really like it.

I like the small streets and alleys in the city very much, and I can't help but walk in to see if there are hidden treasures waiting for me to discover. As a result, quiet streets and mosques will inadvertently appear in front of you.

When you arrive in Kashgar, almost no one does not go to the century-old teahouse to check in, or at least pass by to take a photo as a souvenir.

It is the epitome of life in the old city for a hundred years. A pot of tea, a baked bun or naan, this is the afternoon time of the old people in the city. Many of these old people used to be craftsmen with unique skills in the city, and now they pass on their skills to future generations. For them, teahouse life has become their daily life.

Watching "The Kite Runner", the only thing that I can quickly recognize the scenery of Kashgar city is the century-old teahouse. In the film, Amir's father watched the kite competition on the second-floor balcony of the teahouse. Compared with the locals, tourists Prefer to choose balcony seats.

DAY 2

09:30 Xiangfei Tomb

Regarding the tomb of Xiangfei, the masters told me that it is not worth seeing, but the young ladies said that it is still worth a visit. I think it may be because they took a lot of beautiful photos there, and they are not less affected by "Han Zhu Ge Ge" "The plot influence. Although there are different opinions on whether Concubine Xiang is really buried here, judging from the name here, most people agree.

The mosque next to the tomb has a super beautiful architectural structure. This iconic scene, I recognized it from the movie "The Kite Runner" at a glance.

11:30 Old town corner

Today's ancient city of Kashgar is full of places for petty bourgeoisie, and the corner cafe in the old city is a favorite place for many young people.

In the store, the young boss was in a suit. I asked him why he opened such a cafe. He said that any young man has no dream of opening a cafe.

The first floor is a mix of sofa seating, bar counters, and old objects, while the second floor is a pure ethnic style, more like a living room at home. When you pass by this unremarkable shop from the door, you will never think that the artistic sense inside is quite strong.

I ordered a cup of coffee called "Xiangfei", in which roses and rich spices were blended in. This complex taste can only be felt in Kashgar.

at last

Ji Xianlin once said: "There is only one place in the world where the four major human civilizations, Chinese civilization, Indian civilization, Roman civilization, and Egyptian civilization, converge at one point. This point is nowhere else but in southern Xinjiang." There are two roads in the north and the south, and then they converge at one place, which is Kashgar, the westernmost city in China.
