This hotel is called Qi Niwak Hotel. It is located in the most prosperous commercial and financial center in the center of Kashgar. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants, and the location is very superior. It only takes 20 minutes by car from Kashi Airport and Railway Station.
As soon as we arrived at the gate of the hotel, two tall and majestic stone lions stood there, one on the left and one on the right. Behind the stone lions was a tall and magnificent gatehouse. The momentum is enough to prove the strength and status of the hotel.
Facts have proved that the hotel is not only strong, but also has a long history. On the left side leading to the hotel lobby, there is a row of stone carvings on which are some important figures and events in the history of Kashgar. There are three buildings facing the hotel gate, namely the main building on the left, the north building in the middle, and the China-Pakistan Friendship Building on the right. When I saw these words, my first reaction was that this hotel was unusual.
After in-depth understanding, it is found that it is indeed unusual. "Qi Niwak" means "Chinese Garden" in the local language of Xinjiang. The reason for taking this name is also related to the trade between Kashgar and foreign countries more than a hundred years ago. In the north of the hotel there is a row of small two-story buildings. This is the predecessor of the Qiniwak Hotel. Judging from the appearance of this house, it is quite old.
Don't look at this house as inconspicuous, but it has a lot of background. It turned out that in 1908, these houses were the consulates of India and Pakistan, the British agency in Kashgar, and are now national cultural relics protection units. On the left side of the consulate, there is a flower bed surrounded by white jade. In the middle is a tall elm tree with a round crown. It is more than 40 meters high and half a meter in diameter.
