Traveling to Yunnan, are you still going to Lijiang, Dali? This time, I recommend to you unpopular destinations that are about to explode in 21 years: Jianshui and Maitreya. Maybe you have been to Yunnan three or four times, but you have never heard his name, so hurry up and collect it!
Jianshui, Yunnan: Ant Workshop
At the beginning, I knew Jianshui through a picture. People looked so small in front of the huge building made of red bricks. My friends said it was Jianshui. I am used to traveling as soon as I say it, so I didn't do too much strategy, and directly booked a hotel in Jianshui. When I arrived at the front desk of the hotel, I showed the picture of Maitreya Dongfengyun Town to the front desk. The front desk said it was Maitreya, and I said, well, it should be more than 900 meters away from here, right? The front desk said that the one in Jianshui is Ant Workshop, and Dongfengyun is more than 190 kilometers away from here. This moment confused me, so I changed the transportation and booked the air ticket, only then did I realize that there is such a place as Maitreya.
It only takes one and a half hours to take the high-speed train from Kunming to Jianshui, and the next day you can go straight to the macaron-color photo holy place: Ant Workshop. It costs 10 yuan to buy an ant coin to enter the ant workshop. This coin can also be used as 10 yuan, so it is equivalent to no money.
It is recommended to go directly to the art gallery inside for 10 yuan, and you can feel the many hand-painted works of Yunnan artist Luo Xu.
After coming out of the art museum, you can see various art buildings of Master Luo Xu. Can you imagine that so many buildings with different shapes do not use any steel bars, but are all made of turned bases? The place is dreamy, romantic and full of childishness. The gorgeous Mediterranean color scheme is full of western romanticism, and you can feel the bold design imagination of the artist. The sun shines through the white, pink, and orange five-hole hollow bricks, showing different light and shadow effects, making you feel like you are in Morocco, and taking pictures from every angle is very beautiful!
Ant Workshop was conceived by Luo Xu as an ant kingdom. Each area has a small story. This area is my favorite. The outside is a white brick wall, and there is a hole in the inside. The small area is changed to a different angle. Shooting The styles are different.

On the second day, you can go to Jianshui Ancient City to feel the charm of the thousand-year-old city. In the evening, you can go to Jianshui Zitao Street to visit the night market and eat a bowl of authentic Yunnan rice noodles. Come to Jianshui to see it before it is crowded with tourists!
Yunnan Mile: a hotel in the MGallery collection
There is no direct high-speed rail from Jianshui to Maitreya, and there are many mountain roads by car. Then we changed back to Kunming. It costs more than 30 yuan to take the high-speed rail from Kunming, and we can reach Maitreya in half an hour. It is 6 kilometers away from Maitreya Station, which is the location of Dongfengyun Town! The hotel we booked is in the Dongfengyun Town of the scenic spot. You need to take a shuttle bus from the entrance of the scenic spot to the entrance of the lobby. Only hotel guests can enjoy the "privilege" of directly entering the scenic spot by car!
After the shuttle bus passed all kinds of strange buildings in the scenic area, the true appearance of the MGallery was revealed! What I like the most is the semi-circular building in the lobby. Entering it, the design of the echo wall makes the sound of the water flowing in the center more ethereal. Create a solemn sense of welcome ceremony for every guest. MGallery is a brand under the Accor Group. The first in China is in Changbai Mountain, and Maitreya is the second.
From the hotel lobby to the interior, the well-known design company CCD (Hong Kong Zheng Zhong Design Firm) is responsible for it, which also gives hotel lovers a reassurance. After all, in the game of global high-end hotel design, CCD is like a veteran with high authority. The works they created, such as Hangzhou Pan Diaoyutai, Shenzhen Zhongzhou Marriott Hotel, etc., are still leading the trend of word-of-mouth.
The room is dominated by gray, black, and white earth tones, all of which reveal a strong French style. You can see the Kaleidoscope Art Museum from the balcony of the room. However, it is a pity that we went in the off-season, and the swimming pool and gym were closed. In order to protect the vegetation in the hotel, the hotel covered the vegetation with green covers. When shooting, you will find that these green covers are deep. It ruins the beauty of the whole scenery. But the fact that the gym is closed makes me wonder. Is it because there are few customers in the off-season that the service facilities that the guests should have enjoyed are simply reduced?
My favorite is the garden in the main building next to the lobby. Three huge pillars rushed to the dome in the air, as fantastic as an ancient castle in the wizarding world. No matter day or night, here exudes an abstract and dreamy atmosphere, simply 360 degrees without dead ends.
However, I have seen friends who have stayed here complain that the hotel toilets for thousands of nights do not have heated toilet lids and automatic flushing, low-end hair dryers, etc. From a design point of view, this hotel is still worth experiencing, but from a service point of view, this hotel only opened at the end of 2020, and the team is still in the running-in period, such as the lack of dishes, and there is nothing to inform the waiter on the birthday Preparation, privacy, etc. all need to be gradually improved in the later stage. The software facilities are significantly lower than the hardware facilities, which is also a common problem in domestic hotels.
Maitreya: Dongfeng Charm Town
To be honest, the first time I saw the Kaleidoscope Art Museum, I was really shocked. That's right, the author of this building and Jianshui Ant Workshop is the same person: Luo Xu. In Yunnan, you may have heard the name of Yang Liping, but Luo Xu is the "Yang Liping" in the sculpture world. Luo Xu's sculptures are as famous as Yang Liping's dances, and are known as "two major national treasures in Yunnan". Luo Xu himself was bestowed the title of "Yunnan Gaudi" by the industry.
Luo Xu grew up in Maitreya, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan. To my surprise, he did not receive a professional art school education. He is like a free-growing animal and plant in Yunnan. He is crazy and willful, and has never been coerced by business. Feel free in your own kingdom. Since the 1990s, when Luo Xu returned to his hometown of Yunnan, he began to use this land as inspiration to create unique Luo Xu-style architectural complexes that are considered "unbelievable" by outsiders.
The indigenous nest in Kunming, the ant workshop in Jianshui, and the kaleidoscope of Maitreya are all imaginative. Luo Xu abandoned the traditional construction method, did not draw blueprints, did not do engineering measurement, did not use a steel bar or a nail, and only used millions of locally fired red bricks to make these buildings rise from the ground
Initially, these buildings were only to interpret his inner natural architectural style. But no one expected that these buildings gradually attracted the attention of the whole world, and even drove the development of the entire Maitreya. This is a truly great artist.

In the next few days, we changed to another hotel in Dongfengyun: Niuduoluo Music Farm, which looks like a castle. I thought it was just named as a music farm, but I didn't expect that it was also a place for artists to communicate.
The building outside the lobby is actually a concert hall. When you enter, the voice of the voice will have an ethereal feeling, but it is the off-season and the inside is not open. From some music scores and posters, you can imagine the scene where artists gather here to play together. We were arranged in a study house not far from here. There are two rooms in the single-family house. Because there is no guest in the other room, we have the whole house to ourselves. The house seems to be an apartment for these artists. The ground floor There is a wine cellar and bar, some souvenirs are sold on the first floor, the second floor is a room + living room, and the living room is also full of books. Because of the off-season, the place has not been well maintained, but it is a great honor to live in a house like a paradise.
When I went there, it was 2 months ago, when the north was cold and windy, the garden was already full of flowers. Strolling in Dongfengyun, I hope that when you come here, you will not regard it as a pure internet celebrity check-in place, but feel the concept that the artist wants to pass on to us. After all, there are not many such talented artists in today's impetuous society.
