When was this rare ancient stone dwelling community formed, and who lived there? It has not been verified until now. As soon as the epidemic situation in Beijing eased, grass began to grow in my heart. This year, I held my breath until the end of June. It is already midsummer. It is still possible to go out of Beijing if it is not necessary. I still keep my eyes on the surrounding area and find a cool and interesting place to settle my heart. All of a sudden, "Guyaju" came into view and drove away without hesitation with curiosity.

It is the first time I have seen such a well-preserved ancient stone dwelling site dug out of extremely hard granite rocks. It is an eternal mystery that there is no definite record of "Guyaju" in historical records. It is the largest cliff that has been discovered in China so far. Habitat ruins. It is low-key hidden in the canyon at the foot of Haituo Mountain in the west of Yanqing District, Beijing, about 20 kilometers away from Yanqing District. Haituo Mountain is also the second highest peak in Beijing with an altitude of 2241 meters. That day, the light rain was just suitable for exploring the ancient times, and the tranquility in the mountains seemed to be the only two of us in the scenic spot. It seems that it is a small crowd due to the impact of the epidemic, and the Internet celebrity card did not hit here.

The scenic spot is clean and tidy, and the stone steps are lingering in the green shade. The tour route sign is very clear and points to the "meter" unit. The temperature in the valley is a few degrees lower than that in the city, which is very cool. The ancient stone residence is distributed on the 100,000-square-meter cliff, divided into three areas: the front, the middle, and the back. Almost every area seems to be built on a whole huge rock, and it appears along the direction of the original granite joints. It is also well-proportioned, admiring the magic and magnificence of the ancients fighting against heaven and earth for survival and reproduction.

How to choose a place of residence that is suitable for survival and avoids risk invasion. "Ancient Cliff Residence" is fully hidden, sunny, leeward and has water sources. There are 137 stone chambers in total. The spatial structure of each stone chamber is different. Functional area design There are kitchens, bedrooms, and stables. Large and small alcoves are dug out of the walls, which should be used to place items. These require a huge amount of work to be excavated on hard rock, and the excavation tools at that time would be time-consuming and laborious. difficult.

There are parallel suites and unimaginable two-story duplex. During the tour, I found a hole that looks like a window but has no door. I went in and found the "upstairs and downstairs" with flat walls. It's really not easy to pay attention to. . The largest three-bedroom house was 7.45 meters wide and 3.5 meters deep. It was already a luxury at that time.

In the community, you can also see a relatively independent household with a door and a corridor. The layout is like a suite with privacy. If you think about it, it is probably a tribal leader or a large family. There is a separate stone ladder in front of the door directly from the bottom of the cliff. The partition is relatively obvious, and it is different from the other adjacent rooms. Although we don't know the social living structure at that time, there will be classes.

The height and width of the door of each stone dwelling are relatively cramped. Perhaps the height of the ancients is far less than that of modern people or other defense needs. There are also several openings that are open to the outside and are larger. There are "Chaoyang Cave", "Chunyin Tea House" and so on, or they are used for reception or resting, but the cottage gate has not been preserved.

Some hypotheses may be the cultural relics of ancient ethnic minorities. The most influential one is the theory of "Xi people". It looks even more exquisite. The text on the signboard shows that it is the largest and most complex cliff dwelling in the area. It is likely to be a place for discussions, gatherings, and sacrifices. Enter to visit.

There are also "wind-eroded niches" on the rocks, which are different from artificially excavated caves. The edge shapes are naturally formed and there is no direction and arrangement. The ancient well is the living and production water source of the whole village, as well as the "Longquan" and "Xiangquan". On the way to climb the mountain, there is an "Xiangquan" engraved on a stone at a corner, but the location of the spring cannot be found, and it may be buried in the deep at. The Niaosing Mountain is more secluded. In the canyon, you can often meet small squirrels running in and out, and the sound is very emerald. This is the first time I heard a squirrel at a close distance. I was sure that it was not there when I saw that there were no other birds around. Singing with scruples, how peaceful the ecology is.

Standing on the top of the front mountain and leaning on the railing, there is a group of red-roofed villas outside the pine forest. There is a church among them and the Guanting Reservoir like a quiet lake in the distance. . It is in stark contrast to the tribes living in groups in stone caves of the ancients.

"Guyaju" can be visited in more than an hour, and the relatively concentrated steps in the front, middle and back areas are built without rush and physical strength completely wins. Tickets are 54 yuan per person, and the age of 60 (inclusive) can be discounted for free. We enjoyed it properly, and the scenic spot is really not easy. It seems that we were the only tourists at that time. The parking lot is relatively large and it is very convenient in front of the ticket office. The parking fee for small cars is 10 yuan/car without time. It is recommended that it is 28 kilometers away from the Badaling Great Wall, so you can take care of it in one day.
