Although Seda is located in a remote place, its name is well-known. Seda County belongs to Ganzi Prefecture, located in the southwest of Sichuan Province and northeast of Ganzi Prefecture, at the junction of Sichuan and Qinghai. In the early days, a horse in the shape of gold was found in Setang, so it was named "Golden Horse Capital". With an altitude of more than 3,900 meters, Seda County is the highest plateau animal husbandry county in Sichuan Province with the coldest climate and the worst natural conditions. Humans have lived and multiplied here as early as 3,000 years ago. The fact that Sertar is so famous today is all due to the "Setar Larung Wuming Buddhist Academy". It can be said that 100% of the people who come to Sertar come for the Buddhist Academy.
There is only one long-distance bus from Maerkang in Aba Prefecture to Seda in Ganzi Prefecture every day, leaving at 7:20 in the morning. The distance is 280 kilometers and the journey takes more than 6 hours. The road conditions are quite good, driving along the mountainous area of the Tibetan plateau along the way, the scenery here is unique. Larung Wuming Buddhist Academy is located in a small valley called Larung about 18 kilometers southeast of Sertar County. The shuttle bus arrived here at 1:00 p.m. Many tourists who came to the Buddhist Academy got off, and then drove to Sertar County. . Enter from the Mizoguchi gate and walk up a little to a large parking lot, waiting for the bus to the halfway up the mountain. After a while, the bus stopped at the halfway station with passengers, and I was immediately shocked by the sight in front of me. The Seda mountains and rivers are all red, and the Larong Valley stretches for several miles on the hillside, under the blue sky, there are hundreds of small brown-red wooden shacks all over the mountains and plains, surrounded by a few resplendent and magnificent halls in the central area, and the golden temple roofs stand in a snow-capped area. Among them, it shines brightly. The most beautiful colors in the world, red, yellow, blue and white, are perfectly combined here, outlining a beautiful picture scroll between heaven and earth. Stepping into the ditch mouth, facing the first few hundred steps on the left hand side of the outermost hillside, it twists and turns like a snake and spirals upwards straight to the sky. When I got here, I realized that male monks are called Jueshi, and female monks are called Juemu. This stone ladder is exclusively for the use of Juem, a female believer in the Buddhist academy. The Buddhist academy used to have strict discipline. On the left side of the hillside lived a female believer, Juem, and on the right, a male believer, Jueren (Lama). I carried a rucksack that weighed more than ten kilograms, took one step at a time, and sat down to catch my breath after dozens of steps. I was able to crawl so hard on the ladder leading to heaven and happiness at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters. Oxygen exercise, the old heart can barely cope with the reaction of the alpine zone. There are quite a few Juems going up and down on the ladder, facing my camera, some smile shyly and cover their faces with their hands, some stand on the stone steps and look up at the sky thoughtfully, and some old Juem walks with heavy steps climb up. Don't underestimate the hundreds of steps, it took more than half an hour to climb to the top. When I climbed to the top of the mountain, I passed the sacred landmark "Mandala" and saw the three-story Larung Hotel not far away. This is the only place in the Buddhist Academy that can provide accommodation. The Larung Hotel cannot Book in advance, only people can book a room when they arrive at the scene. I want a four-bed room, shared bathroom, 100 yuan per person per night including breakfast. Staying for one night, I feel that the altitude in Larong Valley is stronger than that in Dangling. It is about the same height because it is surrounded by mountains, the population density is high, and there is no green vegetation around. Of course, the oxygen content in the air is much lower, so there are many Tourists need to rely on oxygen inhalation to reduce altitude sickness.
There was a heavy snowfall in Larong Valley last night, and you can see everywhere covered in silver. The densely packed red wooden huts look so tenacious and full of vitality in this silver-white world. When I passed by the small wooden hut where Juemu lived, the monk houses supported on the rugged hillside road looked so simple and dilapidated, some of them didn’t even have wooden doors, and they relied on torn cotton wool to keep out the wind Snow. Under such harsh natural conditions, there are so many believers from all over the world living here for many years, relying on their strong beliefs, lofty beliefs, and extremely firm pursuits to realize their lifelong dreams here. The greatness of faith is everywhere, and I can't help being in awe.
"Seda Larung Wuming Buddhist Academy" is the largest and most mysterious Buddhist academy in the world. In 1980, Jigme Phuntsok, a master of Tibetan Buddhism from Qinghai, came here and established the "Esoteric Lecture Class". In 1987, the Great Dharma King Jigme Phuntsok persuaded the Vice Chairman of the Panchen Lama, and the Panchen Lama personally sent a letter to the Setha County Government to approve the establishment of the Buddhist Academy. After more than 30 years of development, the lecture class with only 20 people at the beginning has continuously developed into a famous Buddhist academy with more than 10,000 people today. Seda is a place where Tibetan Buddhist temples are relatively concentrated, all of which belong to the Nyingma sect. The monks of this sect wear red clothes and red hats, so they are called "red sect". The ancient Nyima Red sect has inherited the broad culture and compassion of Tibetan Buddhism. This place can be called the purest Buddhist paradise, with red prayer flags fluttering in the wind, layers of red houses, and crimson monk robes. Often Juesh and Juem, they have kind and warm faces, and a quick glance fills the air with a peaceful atmosphere. Here is a sea of red, and the favorite red of Chinese people is everywhere. Jigme Phuntsok is known as the "King of Dharma". During his lifetime, he often preached the scriptures and preached the Dharma in the great scripture hall in the center of Poxia. Tibetan and Chinese monks could go in and listen to the lectures. Although the Dharma King Jigme Phuntsok has passed away, the Buddhist Academy still retains this good tradition. People of all colors can go in to listen to lectures and take pictures. The magnanimity and compassion of Buddhism have attracted tens of thousands of people to come here. The resident population has reached more than 10,000, while there are only a few thousand people in Seda County. There are supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls, hotels, express delivery, laundromats, consulting service agencies, etc. in Laronggou. Although the sparrow is small, it has everything you need.
In the evening, I boarded the viewing platform on the highest mountain on the right hand side of the Buddhist Academy towards the exit. At this time, the sun has begun to gradually set in the west, and the light and shadow are constantly changing with the movement of the sun. Looking down from the top of the mountain, it is like a huge sky net that is spread out, and everything in the Buddhist College at the bottom of Larong Valley is included in it. Facing such an incomparable open and spectacular scenery, in addition to being shocked, it is still shocking, shocking enough to make your nose bleed. Standing at the highest point of Larong Valley, you feel as if you are on the edge of heaven, as if you are flying above the valley to look down on all living beings. The sun seems to be blown and moved by the wind, and my lens is constantly shifting as the light changes, capturing this wonderful color from time to time.
Looking to the right from the viewing platform at the top of the mountain, there are many yellow houses standing in a valley on the downhill road. If you ask someone, it turns out to be a layman's house. Layman is a general term for lay people, and in the old days, it pointed out that family members were a general term for lay believers. Because it was too far away, fortunately I had a 2x telephoto lens to zoom in and shoot in space.
The clouds in the sky are constantly drifting away, and the light and shadow on the ground are also constantly moving rapidly, gradually swallowing up the area where the sun shines, which also indicates that such a wonderful landscape will soon come to an end. The wind on the mountain is getting stronger and stronger, people can't bear it, and the temperature is getting lower and lower. If you stay in this high-altitude area, you will easily catch a cold, which will greatly affect the next journey. When I had enough shots, I immediately went down the mountain to take close-up shots of the cottage under the setting sun.
The setting sun on the hill in the west bursts out blood-red light, reflecting on the densely packed red wooden houses on the hillside, it is so beautiful that it is beyond words. Facing the red hillsides one after another aroused the restlessness of the hormones in my body. I was deeply immersed in the complex of red eyes and couldn't extricate myself. I could only keep walking to find the most beautiful subjects. Here is so holy and beautiful, simple and noble. This is a place where faith is admired, and it is also a place where the soul is washed. Big beauty, big love.
On the commanding heights of Larung Wuming Buddhist Academy, there is a huge and resplendent building "Mandala". The Dharma King built a pure place for Bodhisattvas in the ten directions, and it is also the only mandala in the world that can be circled. There are three floors in the mandala. The first floor is a turning corridor. Whether it is early in the morning or late at night, there are devout believers. While chanting scriptures while turning the prayer wheel, the golden prayer wheel keeps creaking. Under the effect of lighting engineering, the mandala in the dark exudes charming brilliance. The street lamps on both sides of the block below the mandala are flickering, like the stars in the sky are constantly blinking and beckoning to you.
Last night I tossed and turned and couldn't sleep, it seemed that someone was not sleeping, and the headache caused by the high reaction was a bit uncomfortable. When the early morning sun began to shine on this cold land, everything in Larong Valley was revived, full of vitality. The day is in the morning, especially for people in the freezing plateau, the sun is so precious. I didn't have time to eat breakfast, so I walked to the central area of the Buddhist Academy, and captured the soft light in the morning to take pictures of the cultural landscape of Larong Valley at different times. The chanting of scriptures came from the loudspeakers in the central square, and the square was filled with smoke. Morning worship, burning incense, paying tribute, chanting scriptures, and attending classes are the most active and busy times for believers. Along the way, they see a constant flow of red people. The morning sun was rising, and the sunlight had filled every corner of the Buddhist academy. Men were not allowed to approach the scripture hall dedicated to Juemu. Fortunately, a telephoto lens captured the sunny smiles on their faces. Life is so simple, when you let go of worldly worries, you will feel that life is full of joy. Seeing Jue Mu and Jue Shi's light footsteps, peaceful faces, open hearts, and true expressions, this is the difference between them and ordinary people like us. Laity among them will also be deeply infected.
