After staying in Beijing for more than a year, the first time I went to the 798 Art District (hereinafter referred to as "798") was in mid-December 2017. At that time, the weather was obviously cold, and I mainly took a leisurely stroll on the 751 and 798 roads. In-depth tour. Autumn in Beijing is beautiful and short, and I can't bear to stay at home during the good time, so I invite my friend Aji to go out for a walk. Originally, we planned to visit some niche scenic spots that we hadn’t been to (such as Liulichang) in the second ring road. We learned that Aji hadn’t been to 798 yet, so we changed our plan and went to 798 again.

Why did I write this travel note, because I didn’t find anything that I was particularly satisfied with when I searched, so I decided to write an article by myself, record the 798 in my eyes, and hope to help those who want to weed 798 Baby provides some reference~

>>Overview of 798 Art Zone

If you come to Beijing for tourism, it is recommended to stay in a courtyard hotel in Nanluoguxiang

Accommodation: Unnamed Courtyard Hotel

Comments: When I checked in, I was upgraded to a family suite for free. The overall environment is very good. I experienced the feeling of a Beijing courtyard. I told you there was something wrong with the light switch at night and immediately helped to fix it. I went to help other stores to get invoices. The cleaning lady was very polite and enthusiastic. After the actual stay, I also gave breakfast, coffee, fruit yoghurt, free biscuits, and free Qing Dynasty costumes for photos. In short, the overall Checking in feels good, it is a pleasant stay, and the place to live is very close to the Drum Tower and Houhai, which is considered to be a scenic spot.

Speaking of the 798 Art Zone, let me first introduce an official introduction on Du Niang as the background
"798 Art District (ArtDist) is located in Dashanzi District, Jiuxianqiao Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, so it is also called Dashanzi Art District (DAD-Dashanzi Art District). After the organization settled in, it rented and remodeled vacant factories on a large scale, and gradually developed into an aggregation of various spaces such as galleries, art centers, artist studios, design companies, restaurants and bars, forming an international "SOHO-style art settlement" and "LOFT lifestyle. Now it has attracted extensive attention from domestic and foreign media and the public, and has become a new landmark of Beijing’s urban culture.”

Therefore, compared with the orthodox attractions with a long history and culture in Beijing, 798 is a place with more vitality and individuality. When you walk in, you can obviously feel the different cultural atmosphere and artistic atmosphere. But "art" still has a certain sense of distance for many people, so if you are as ignorant of art as I am, it is a good choice to come in and feel the different rhythm of the atmosphere or even just pat

Life, in addition to the nine-to-six at work and daily necessities in life, going out to see different scenery will make your mood clearer (well, I really can’t pretend anymore

)

In general:

Art lovers can come and appreciate art;

Literary and artistic youth can come and release your literary and artistic feelings to the fullest;

Babies who just want to pull weeds can come to stroll around and pat;

Other students look at their mood

>>Transportation route & tour map

In general, the 798 Art District is divided into six districts A-F, but I personally recommend two core areas: D District + C District

The following map is more intuitive. The main shopping routes are East Street, West Street, Zhongyi Street, and Zhonger Street on both sides of Road 797 and 798, and in the middle. At the same time, I personally like District C very much. There are few stores. More The original appearance of the factory is preserved, with a strong industrial atmosphere. I will explain it in a separate section later. After visiting these, the complete tour of 798 is basically completed.

In order to let everyone see more clearly, I did not reproduce the route of our tour (a bit devious) and wrote, but classified the places according to the regional distribution

Enter the text>>Route 797

Compared with the mainstream 798 road, I prefer 797 road. Many shops and studios on both sides of the road are super unique. I will reproduce some of the places we went to. There are more exciting things waiting for you to unlock

Entering from Gate 2 is the 797 road

This time I came here to catch up with the 798 Art Festival. There were more exhibitions than usual, but some tickets were more expensive than expected, so I didn’t go in. I mainly visited some places that are open to the outside world.

The first one to enter was an art exhibition, the theme was not photographed, and the style in the picture below was the main one. I don’t have any talent for art, I think it’s just a big brush, but the feeling of the artist’s throwing is different (different soul, hahaha)

The second one to enter is a "salt" theme pavilion, which is very interesting

There is a large room in the room covered with a layer of white sand, but it should not be salt, it is very comfortable to step on it.

When I went out, I took a photo on the photo printer, and I took a selfie with Aji for a long time. The one with the big face in the back is the big face. Haha

Then I walked into an iron handicraft store. There are quite a variety of products, and many of them have discounts.

I love this row of handjobs

Then I walked into a children's art exhibition, to be precise, it was a children's art training institution, and displayed the children's works. The theme seemed to be "what a big sneeze", I can't remember the specifics
Colorful world, innocent smiling face, happy childhood

There are also some short alleys next to the main road, and the creepers on the entire wall

Let’s talk about it seriously. Yes, it’s a toilet. Aji and I went in to experience it.

Walked in like this and was not disappointed

There are plants and flowers on the sink, the whole is very harmonious

After passing the toilet and continuing to go back, you can see a lot of thick pipes, which should be left over from the previous factory.

In the passage leading to 798 Creative Plaza, there are two humanoid iron frames. The 798 Creative Plaza is under renovation, so I couldn’t get in.

The following one can be said to be one of the most satisfying pavilions of this trip, I like it very much

The name of the store is Changqing Gallery. At that time, the exhibition "Above the Mirror" was held by art masters. There should be other themed exhibitions in the future.

The idea in the picture below is the scene at the opening ceremony of the artist’s solo exhibition, and the pictures are all smashed out with a hammer

Display some mirror works and photos

The above are mainly the impressive places we visited on Road 797. There are still many galleries and studios that we haven’t visited. Friends who like it can check in deeply~
We walked along 797 to the end, then went up a staircase on the left hand side and entered the 751 area, this part is reserved for later

>>798 West Street & 798 Road

From the initial map, you can see that No. 798 is a main road parallel to No. 797. There are 4 alleys in the middle (East Street, West Street, Zhongyi Road, Zhonger Road) passing through West Street, that is There is a very long graffiti wall. Compared with the large graffiti, the graffiti on this road is smaller and fresher. Among them, the little yellow duck is my favorite.

Couples and girlfriends took pictures here one after another, but the most attractive thing for everyone was this cute baby, holding a water glass with a little yellow duck in his hand. Many passers-by couldn't help but also took a picture, such as me

There is also an oversized Teddy, which is placed on a stool for tourists to take photos with. It can be said to be very heartfelt.

The graffiti on this wall should be changed from time to time. Last year when Xiao Zhu Zhu and I came here, it looked like this~

At the end, I came to Road 798. I saw a little Zhengtai taking a photo with a big dinosaur. I couldn’t help taking a sneak shot. I’m always resistant to cute babies~

There is a big wall on Road 798. When I passed by it for the first time, it was a little dark and I thought it was painted on it. This time, I saw that it was pasted when I came up close.

A lot of crooked nuts took pictures here, and saw a foreign lady live broadcasting, very excited~

Aji said that she saw someone posted a photo with a large graffiti in the circle of friends. I thought it was the wall above, but Aji said no, and then we continued to move forward and found the place Aji wanted to check in. The graffiti wall is the one below

This wall is completely reddish purple

Hmm... I squatted in the corner and took pictures seriously

There are some restaurants and coffee shops on both sides of the main road, and the overall tone is lazy and casual.

We ate at a restaurant on East Street at noon. The decoration of the restaurant is more stylish. We ordered four dishes and added up to 100 yuan, which can be said to be very conscientious. The dishes are Cantonese style, light and not greasy. It will not be very dry in autumn The extra point is that the store can rent charging treasures, I can’t help but advertise this store

When I came here last year, I ordered a pot of tea at the bookstore next to the restaurant, read a book for a while, and soon it was dark

>>798 Zhongyi Street & Zhong2 Street

Next, let’s talk about Zhongyi Street and Zhonger Street. There are few exhibition halls here. They are mainly handicraft shops, cafes, etc., which mainly sell commodities. photo

"Mahjong Wall" at the corner (self-named)

Band-Aid 8 offline store

>>751D·PARK

751 (also known as: Beijing Fashion Design Plaza or 751D·park Beijing Fashion Design Plaza), is connected to 798 Art District. If you come to 798, you must visit 751

Do you still remember the King Kong graffiti wall in front, there is a locomotive square next to it, when you see the picture below, you will enter the 751 area

The picture below was taken last year, next to the locomotive, the weather was better that day

Keep going and see a super beautiful flower bush

751 Landmarks

next to a happy wall

There are many couples around the square taking wedding photos. Choose different backgrounds to create different styles.

A nearby Hong Kong American restaurant

From the moment I arrived at the Locomotive Square, there were staff members promoting the 3D museum, which was more similar to Fantawild. I didn’t go in because I wasn’t too interested. I took a scene for your reference.

Meeting Yellow Duck and Mengwa Again

The ground is roughly as above. When you look up, you will see some curved pipes that are graffitied similar to the picture below. Then find the nearby stairs and climb up. It is a very long corridor bridge, and then you can see a different scenery.

The original structure and style of the factory are basically preserved, with a heavy industrial atmosphere. The original picture is probably like this

Using different filters is a different style (retouching is a waste of time, and the technology is not enough, so one-click filter

)

Below are all toned down to a faded tone, shot at different locations

Previous panorama

Although a pile of steel looks thicker, it is definitely a good place to take pictures. Below is a wave of photos of people.

Why are there so many backs, because I want to leave more room for everyone’s imagination, hahaha

The following group found a suitable filter, and then Aji was immersed in the photographer's world, yes, I am a model

Thanks to Aji photographer for the beautiful photos

>>Exit No. 4

After visiting all the above parts, we walked to District E by the way, and took a look through Ceramics Street. There are mainly small shops, not too many unique ones. If you don’t have enough time, you can skip it.

The last little surprise was to see a few lovely graffiti walls in the parking lot next to the exit (Gate 4)

After going out, there is also a long side of graffiti

>> epilogue

At this point, this travel note is over~~ If you also want to pull weeds 798, I hope this travel note can help you a little bit.
In general, 798 is a place worth visiting, I hope you find what you want here, okay?
