I have never been to the Great Wall, and my understanding of the Great Wall is only based on the description and praise of the Great Wall in TV and textbooks when I was in school. I finally climbed the Great Wall in person, and completed the cognitive span from textbooks and TV news to personal experience. Arriving at the Great Wall, it is indeed extremely shocking!
When it comes to choosing this section of the Great Wall, I really took a lot of thought: I don’t know if I don’t check it. When I really searched which section of the Great Wall in Beijing is interesting on Baidu, it actually appeared: Badaling Great Wall, Shuiguan Great Wall, Juyongguan Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall, Simatai Great Wall, Jiankou Great Wall and many other Great Walls with different names.
Because I have never been to the Great Wall, I don’t know what all the Great Walls look like, but I look at the map for reference from the convenience: First, the Badaling Great Wall, the Badaling Shuiguan Great Wall, and the Juyongguan Great Wall. These three sections of the Great Wall are compared. Gather, that is, get together not far away.
The Badaling Great Wall has long been famous throughout the country, so most guests will choose this Great Wall, and the Juyongguan Great Wall and Shuiguan Great Wall can be seen from the map on the same road. Therefore, the distance from these three sections of the Great Wall to Wangfujing in the urban area is about 70 kilometers, but it should be the most congested in terms of the flow of people and vehicles; I have seen the Badaling Great Wall on TV or Douyin before, and it is really Pretty scary.
So the above three sections of the Great Wall are not in my consideration; the Jinshanling Great Wall and the Simatai Great Wall are together, and the distance from the urban area has reached 150 kilometers. The distance determines the driving time, not to mention the traffic congestion in Beijing. Even if there is no traffic jam, I can't afford the time to travel 300 kilometers to and from these two sections of the Great Wall.
Mutianyu Great Wall is also about 70 kilometers away from the urban area, which is exactly the opposite of the location of Badaling Great Wall. Badaling is in the northwest and Mutianyu is in the northeast; so I decided to go to Mutianyu based on the convenience of traffic time. Great Wall;
I searched for pictures of the Mutianyu Great Wall on the Internet, and accidentally saw that many foreigners also chose this section of the Great Wall. Even Mrs. Michelle and boxing champion Tyson from the United States also went to this section of the Great Wall. It was also a TV show before. The filming locations of "If You Are the One" directly strengthened my determination to choose Mutianyu.
Next, I want to plan the route to this section of the Great Wall. I don’t like to join tourist groups, and I often see some news about shopping and tourist traps on TV, and I’m taking my parents on the trip. They are all close to 70 years old, and I don’t allow any unpleasant things to happen on this trip; so I chose to travel freely, freely, in fact, what I need is a transportation, and I found out that there is a 916 bus at Dongzhimen Bus Station The car can reach Huairou Bus Station, but it cannot go directly to the Great Wall. There is still about 20 kilometers away from Huairou Bus Station to Mutianyu Great Wall; you can only get off the bus and take a local black car. Feeling unorganized.
After carefully looking at the 916 road, there are 2 different cars, one is the 916 road car, which has to stop for more than 40 stops, and the other is the 916 express car, which has to stop for as many as 18 stops! I feel that whether I am an old man or not, it is too tiring to stop and stop after so many stops.

Let’s talk about our daily journey to the Great Wall. Since the elderly are used to getting up early, we arrived at the boarding place at 7:20, at the entrance of the Swiss apartment. The car is a white and blue tour bus with the words "BAIC Group" written on the body. Staff are easily identifiable in red overalls. There were not many people in the car, we sat in the front seat. After waiting for 15 minutes, the car was full of people and started to go to the Great Wall.
The little girl with the car introduced herself. She is surnamed Xu and is from Shijiazhuang. She has been a tour guide in Beijing for more than 3 years. She gave a welcome speech to the whole car, told a lot of interesting history of the Great Wall along the way, and introduced different climbs. The Great Wall method, patiently said the time of 3 gatherings and the license plate number before getting off the bus, and also carefully introduced the different prices of tickets for scenic spots and other means of transportation for different age documents on the bus, helping all of us to buy tickets quickly, I also enjoyed the benefits of being exempt from taking the scenic shuttle bus.
We arrived at the parking lot of the Mutianyu Great Wall at about 9:10. Because we arrived early and didn’t see too many tourists, Director Xu distributed the tickets to everyone in a few minutes. This section of the Great Wall is indeed less crowded, and foreign tourists can be seen everywhere. The Forbidden City I just visited yesterday has the feeling of being reserved by my family. The Great Wall is winding and beautiful, stretching as far as the eye can see. Except for the steep steps on the 19th-20th section, it is not difficult to climb up the other 14th-19th.
