Beijing Daxing International Airport, one of the Seven Wonders of the New World, was officially put into operation before the 70th anniversary of the National Day, and quickly became a place for online celebrities to check in. Beijing's new landmark, the new gate, the beauty of lines, the beauty of structure, the combination of art and aesthetics... It is full of praise, and I really want to find an opportunity to see it. On October 27, after the national winter and spring flight season changes, Nantong Xingdong International Airport will open flights to and from Daxing Airport, and this wish can be fulfilled right at home. On a weekend in early November, I had nothing to worry about, and the plane fare was not expensive. I started the 2-day tour mode of Beijing Daxing Airport + Tianjin Haihe.
At Daxing Airport, I experienced the smooth and flexible design, the stretched and unrestrained curves, the spacious and bright space, and kept shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting.
In Tianjin, take a night cruise on the Haihe River by boat, the water is shimmering, the lights are picturesque, Jinmen, Jinta, Jiefang Bridge, Dagu Bridge, King Kong Bridge, Lion Forest Bridge, Jintang Bridge, Progress Bridge, Bei'an Bridge, watch at night I couldn't get enough of it, so I watched it again along the river during the day, walking, walking, walking, walking.
set off, set off—
Daxing Airport is located at the junction of Daxing District, Beijing and Guangyang District, Langfang City, Hebei Province. It is 46 kilometers away from Tiananmen Square in Beijing, 26 kilometers away from Langfang City, and 55 kilometers away from Xiongan New District. The total construction area is 1.43 million square meters, and the total investment is about 80 billion yuan. Construction started in December 2014, and it was officially put into operation on September 25, 2019.
The airport adopts a five-finger corridor layout, with five corridors radiating around the main terminal building. Looking down from the air, it looks like a phoenix reborn from the ashes. The terminal building was jointly designed by the architectural design company ADPI of the Paris Airport Group and Zaha Hadid (Zaha Hadid). The integration of the Architectural Design Institute and the Civil Aviation Design Institute is a masterpiece that draws on the strengths of others.
Zaha Hadid, known as the "Zaha Curve", was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1950. She is the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in architecture - the Pritzker Prize. Her designs have always been famous for her bold shapes, and she is good at constructing spaces through geometric structures and flexible curves. She is known as the "master of deconstruction" in the architectural world. Domestic Guangzhou Grand Theater, Beijing Lize SOHO, Nanjing Youth Olympic Center, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University buildings are all built by her team. On March 31, 2016, he passed away due to a heart attack, which is regrettable.
Let us experience the fantastic design together: C-shaped pillars in the hall, curved seats, curved skylights, "Belt and Road" suspension bridges, transparent glass curtain walls...
On the C-shaped pillars, bunches of steel bars stretch out like huge lotus leaves, light and lively, yet strong and powerful
Flowing, elegant and romantic, the organic unity of function and form makes me want to go back to school and choose an art major.
Soft light, neat ground, wonderful reflection
Experience it with a video:
There are five floors on the ground of the terminal building, and many businesses have already settled in.
Daxing Airport is located at the southernmost end of Beijing's central axis. It inherits history and echoes Tiananmen, Bell and Drum Towers, and the Bird's Nest. It also faces the future and directly provides services for connecting Xiong'an with the world.
From the tower cranes around the airport and the exposed loess, it can be seen that the construction here has not yet been fully completed. I believe that in the near future, this airport economic zone, with no coast on the left, no edge on the right, and only the blue sky, will become more and more mature with the support of all parties, and become the engine that radiates and drives the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration.
There are two floors underground in the terminal building, which can be transferred to high-speed rail and subway.
From here, I took the Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway to Beijing West Railway Station (28 minutes, 30 yuan), then changed to the subway to Beijing South Railway Station (20 minutes), and then took the high-speed rail to Tianjin.
From Daxing Airport to downtown Beijing, you can also take the subway to Caoqiao Station, which takes 20 minutes and costs 35 yuan. Of course, there are also airport buses and taxis, but it is difficult to grasp the time.
The itinerary in Tianjin is arranged like this: take a night cruise on the Haihe River by boat, and "review" the scenic spots along the river the next day, and also see the Xikai Church, Porcelain House, and Italian Style District. In order to improve the fluency of reading, the pictures of the same scenic spot at night are put together with the pictures of the day, so that you can experience the different flavors in detail by comparing them.
Tickets for Haihe tours are divided into day and night. Daytime tickets can be purchased through the WeChat official account of "Tianjin Haihe Cruise" or websites such as Ctrip, and night tickets must be purchased on the official account. The tour route is from Jiefang Bridge to Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel (Tianjin Eye) and back, the whole journey takes 50 minutes, 80 yuan during the day and 100 yuan at night. There are 4 wharves, namely Tianjin Station Wharf, Yifeng District Wharf, Ancient Culture Street Wharf, and Dabeiyuan Wharf.
As a reminder, due to climate change, cruise ships are suspended in winter to ensure the safety of tourists and prevent damage to cruise ship equipment. Last year it was November 8, and this year it will be suspended from November 11.
The first bridge that the cruise ship departs from Tianjin Station Wharf is the Jiefang Bridge.
Jiefang Bridge is located on the Haihe River between Tianjin Station and Jiefang North Road, with a length of 97.64 meters and a width of 19.5 meters. Built in 1927, it was named Wanguo Bridge because there were concessions from Britain, France, Russia, the United States, Germany, Japan, Italy, Austria, Belgium and other countries in Tianjin at that time. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the national government renamed it Zhongzheng Bridge. After liberation in 1949, it was renamed Jiefang Bridge.
Watch a video of reflection in water:
Jiefang Bridge is a double-leaf vertical and open steel structure bridge, and it is the only openable bridge among the Haihe River crossing bridges within the urban area. Every major holiday, if there is no bad weather, the Jiefang Bridge will be opened. This year, the opening time is Qingming Festival, May Day, Children's Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Party Founding Day, Army Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day ( October 1st and October 4th), the opening time is from 8:30 to 10:00 in the evening. This time, I didn't see the grand opening of the bridge with my own eyes, so I found two pictures from the Internet and pretended to be there.
Next time I have the opportunity to choose a good time to go to the scene to have a look.
There is a landmark at the north end of Jiefang Bridge - the Century Clock
On the side of the clock dial is a huge pendulum shape, with the "sun" on the top and the "moon" hanging on the bottom.
Between the outer ring and the inner ring of the dial, the inlaid pattern is the twelve constellations. The top 12 o'clock position is Aries (the sheep represents auspiciousness in China), and the bottom 6 o'clock position is Libra (the scale represents fairness), reflecting the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.
Next is the Dagu Bridge
The Dagu Bridge is 243 meters long and 32 meters wide. It was conceived as "the sun and the moon shine", and it is called the "Sun and Moon Arch Bridge". It was completed and opened to traffic in November 2005. In 2006, he was awarded the Eugene Figo Award of the World Bridge Awards. Only one bridge in the world wins this honor every year. The domestic Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and Shanghai Lupu Bridge won the award in 2002 and 2004 respectively.
Bei'an Bridge
Bei'an Bridge is characterized by sculptures. At the head of the bridge, there are four sculptures of Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku and Xuanwu, which represent the peace of the four directions.
The Progress Bridge looks like a speeding bullet train from a distance.
Jintang Bridge was built in 1906, 19 years earlier than Jiefang Bridge. It is the earliest existing large iron bridge in Tianjin. In 2018, it was selected into the first batch of China's industrial heritage protection list.
Jintang Bridge is a landmark building that symbolizes the liberation of Tianjin. In the Battle of Pingjin that began at the end of November 1948, the People's Liberation Army concentrated five armies to form two assault groups in the east and west to launch a general attack on the defending enemy in Tianjin, and successfully joined forces at Jintang Bridge in the early morning of January 15, 1949. In order to protect this bridge with dual value of cultural relics and historical commemoration, fiberglass approach bridges and Huishi Park are built at both ends of the bridge.
Now Jintang Bridge is a landscape bridge. The bridge deck is paved with wooden boards, and the bridge body maintains the original appearance of the steel structure. The approach bridge and steps are made of glass fiber reinforced plastics.
Huishi Park
Wanghailou Church, built in 1859, is the first church built after Catholicism was introduced to Tianjin. The "Tianjin Religion Case" in 1870 happened here.
The Tianjin Religious Case is a typical event in the struggle against foreign religions in modern Chinese history, from which we can get a glimpse of Chinese history in the late Qing Dynasty. Those who are interested can search online.
Next to the Wanghailou Church is the Lion Grove Bridge. This bridge is characterized by 184 lions of different shapes, each of which is different.
Baifuzhu. The 12 blessings on the pillars were written by Mao Zedong, Wang Xizhi, Wei Guan, Sun Guoting, Huai Su, Su Xun, Huang Tingjian, Zhao Mengfu, Deng Wenyuan, Dong Qichang, Wang Duo, Yu Youren, Kangxi. Among them, the word "Fu" on the stone pillar platform was written by Kangxi.
Nearby is Ancient Culture Street
The famous Yongle Bridge Ferris Wheel (Tianjin Eye) has arrived
Built on the Yongle Bridge, the Ferris wheel has a diameter of 110 meters and is the largest in Asia. It is equipped with 48 360-degree transparent cockpits, each of which can accommodate 8 people, and it takes 28 minutes to make a full rotation. When the visibility is good, you can see the scenery within a radius of 40 kilometers from the highest point, so it is called "Tianjin Eye". During the 2008 Beijing Olympic torch relay in Tianjin, it passed Yongle Bridge.
The Tianjin Eye is located at the mouth of the Sancha River, where the Ziya River, Nanyun River and Haihe River meet. There is a monument to the project of diverting Luanluan into Tianjin at the port. The name of the monument was inscribed by Deng Xiaoping himself on August 20, 1986. On the pedestal of the stele is the statue of "Drinking Water and Thinking of the Source". A young mother with a baby in her arms stands facing the Haihe River, implying that drinking water does not forget the well digger.
Diversion of Luan River into Tianjin is a major water supply project in the early 1980s, bringing water from the Luan River in Qianxi County, Hebei Province to Tianjin City. The total water delivery distance of the whole project is 234 kilometers, and the annual water delivery volume is 1 billion cubic meters. The key is to cross the Yanshan Mountains with the oldest geological age in my country, and build a 12.4-kilometer-long water diversion tunnel among more than 200 faults. , with the technology and equipment conditions at that time, the difficulty was unprecedented. 107 railway soldiers and local troops who participated in the battle were injured and disabled, and 21 people lost their precious lives.
Jingang Bridge is a double-layer arch bridge, known as "Rainbow Bridge". The bridge is the best place to watch and take pictures of "Tianjin Eye".
The Golden Steel Bridge was rebuilt in 1996. The original Jingang Bridge, Jintang Bridge, and Wanguo Bridge (Jiefang Bridge) were all designed by foreign bridge designers. In order to facilitate the navigation of the Haihe River, they were all designed to be openable. Currently, only Jiefang Bridge retains the opening function.
The cruise ship turned around and returned from the "Tianjin Eye", and the scenic spots just now can be seen again
Jinmen and Jinta are the landmarks of Tianjin World Financial Center. Jinmen includes a high-star hotel (St. Regis Hotel) and two symmetrical high-end residential buildings. Jin Tower includes a 336.9-meter office building and a supporting apartment.
There is still a little time before the return trip, and we visited Xikai Church, Porcelain House, and Italian Style District non-stop. The tourist attractions in Tianjin are relatively concentrated, mainly around the Haihe River, Fifth Avenue, and Ancient Culture Street, which can be visited in two or three days.
Xikai Church is located on Binjiang Road, Heping District. It is the largest Romanesque building in Tianjin. It was built in 1916 by French missionary Paul Marie Dumond. In 2018, it was selected as the third batch of Chinese architectural heritage of the 20th century.
Romanesque architecture is an architectural style in the Middle Ages in Europe, characterized by semi-circular arches, and most used in monasteries and churches.
Xikai Church was originally located in the French Concession and was built by French missionaries, so the old people also called it "French Church".

Nanshi Food Street, imitating Qing-style buildings, has three floors of shops along the street, gathering eight major cuisines including Shandong cuisine, Anhui cuisine, Sichuan cuisine, and Cantonese cuisine. It is a large-scale food and beverage center in China. One of the ten scenic spots in Jinmen. Due to time constraints, I didn't go in and take a closer look.

The Italian Style Area is located in Hebei District, Tianjin City. It was originally an Italian Concession, and currently there are nearly 200 well-preserved European buildings.

There are scenery, stories, and interesting.
In fact, I don’t want to leave. In fact, I want to stay. I will stay and watch the spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Every time I travel, I always want to start with the unknown, but prejudice still sneaks in. The biggest prejudice against Tianjin is that there is nothing interesting here. In just two days, what I saw and heard, my prejudice was swept away. As one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government, Tianjin has a glorious history, profound heritage, and strong development potential. It used to be the frontier of opening up in the north and the base of the Westernization Movement in modern China. It was the largest city and commercial center in the north during the Republic of China. It was the second largest city in the country when it was first liberated in 1949. After Beijing became the capital again, the light of this Bohai Pearl gradually dim. In recent years, with the in-depth implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, Tianjin has been entrusted with a greater responsibility to become a "dual center" leading the development of urban agglomerations together with Beijing, and the city's energy level will surely be greatly improved.
Today's Tianjin is still prosperous, calm and elegant, it is worth staying for a few days and savoring it slowly.
Goodbye, Tianjin
Thanks for reading.
