Beijing Four Days Tour

Food, drink and entertainment are all available

Some people say that fools only go out on holidays. If I had the choice, I would not go out on the first day of junior high school. But my parents are in business, and they have a few days off for the Spring Festival all year round. For them, this is the only time a year to see outside. world of opportunity.

Air tickets to go out during the Chinese New Year are very cheap. The lowest price from Nanjing to Beijing is 410. We booked late, and the return ticket is 1450. There are also cheaper ones. You can book earlier.

Day1. National Expo → Tiananmen Square → Forbidden City → Jingshan Park

Forbidden City: ¥40 combined ticket ¥60 (including the Treasure Hall of the Clock Museum)

The Forbidden City and the National Museum are closed on Monday

I originally planned to visit the Tiananmen Gate Tower in the morning and then go to the National Museum, but I went in through the city gate. This is a one-way street, and we can only go in and out. Then we went out from Donghuamen and made a big circle before arriving at the National Museum. It is recommended to go in first. Go to the National Expo, and there are also the Great Hall of the People and Chairman Mao Memorial Hall nearby. You can visit it if you like (note that the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is open from 8:00 to 12:00, and it is not open in the afternoon). The National Museum is very large, and it takes an hour on the first floor I didn’t finish the tour of the bronze wares, so I went to Qianmen for lunch after taking a look at the flowers on the second floor. [Quanjude] main store is in [Qianmen]. I think the 15 and a half fruit charcoal roast duck at the door is delicious. Five people ate it for 1100, and the service fee is 10% of the meal cost. You may regret it if you don’t eat it.

The Forbidden City can be entered from the Meridian Gate, Donghua Gate, and Xihua Gate. Donghua Gate and Xihua Gate are less crowded and the queue time is short. It is recommended to spend half a day visiting the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is limited to 80,000 people per day, and tickets must be booked online one week in advance during peak season. The Forbidden City is only open until five o'clock, and many palaces are not allowed to enter at four thirty.

This year, the Forbidden City exhibited the most cultural relics in history. The sky lanterns and longevity lanterns in front of the Qianqing Palace appeared for the first time in the Forbidden City. You can also see exquisite palace lanterns and posted door gods. If you have watched "I am repairing cultural relics in the Forbidden City", you must not miss the Clock and Treasure Hall. The emperors of the Qing Dynasty loved to collect all kinds of clocks and clocks. These clocks and clocks are very exquisitely designed. When they are in operation, people are amazed by the craftsman's craftsmanship. Unfortunately, only static displays are available in the museum. Exquisite girls will definitely like the Treasure Hall, where you can see the exquisite hairpin ornaments and other handicrafts of the concubines in the harem. It's really super beautiful. If you like to watch palace dramas, you can go to Liugong, the residence of concubines. The red walls and green tiles are a very suitable place for taking pictures. This trip lacks a friend who can take pictures.

Walking from the central axis of the Forbidden City to the end, you can see [Jingshan Park] opposite the Shenwu Gate. From the top of the mountain, you can overlook the panoramic view of the Forbidden City. Jingshan is 43 meters high and is the highest point in Beijing. You can see the subtle fusion of the ancient Forbidden City and the modern metropolis. The ticket price is only two yuan, and the student price is one yuan, super affordable

The last one above is a map of the Forbidden City, you can choose the route according to your preferences.

Day2. Temple of Heaven→Shichahai→Nanluoguxiang→Sanlitun

Temple of Heaven: ¥10 Combined ticket: ¥30 (including Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, Echo Wall, Circular Mound Altar)

We were all surprised to see such a blue sky when we went out, and we thought Beijing was only smoggy in winter and we couldn't resist patting it. [Temple of Heaven] is the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties offered sacrifices to heaven and prayed for a good harvest. The park is very big, we only went to the famous attractions on the joint ticket, you can't see much without buying the joint ticket. The echo wall used to have echoes, because it was coated with honey and other things, and the surface was smooth, but now there are no echoes after the tourists scribbled, and it does not prevent you from howling a few times to refresh yourself, because many people do it, so it is not embarrassing. At noon, I ate the old Beijing copper pot at the [Nanmen Shabu Meat] at the exit of the Temple of Heaven. This shop is very popular. The special sesame sauce is paired with tender and delicious beef, which tastes great.

In the afternoon, the plan is to go to [Prince Gong's Mansion], which is located near [Shichahai]. It has experienced the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline. There is a saying that there is a Prince Gong's Mansion, half of the history of the Qing Dynasty.

Before going to the scenic spot, be sure to check whether the museum is temporarily closed to avoid running in vain.

[Shichahai] is a place with beautiful scenery. The lake is frozen in winter. The ice rink was closed when we went there. It is very pleasant to take a cruise in spring to see the willows and painted buildings on both sides of the river. Yandai Xie Street and Nanluogu Lane are both next to Shichahai. In fact, they are snack streets. They are similar to Chenghuang Temple in Shanghai and Xitang in Zhejiang. I have no interest. There are many former residences of celebrities in Shichahai, such as the former residences of Soong Ching Ling and Guo Moruo. Nearby is Houhai Bar Street, where young people like to go, and it is very lively at night.

Because I came out with my parents, the itinerary was not very full, and every scenic spot in Beijing was too big, and my legs were basically useless after a few days. In the evening, we went to [Sanlitun], a gathering place for handsome men and beautiful women. After savoring the historical details of old Beijing, we turned to the bustling business district and saw the side of the imperial capital that is in line with international standards. Smell the smell of money~ There are various luxury brand counters here, I can’t help but go to ysl to buy a lipstick, and there is also a rare TF counter, anyway, the city I live in does not have any.

Day3. Badaling Great Wall

There are several Great Walls in Beijing that are quite famous. Badaling, Mutianyu, and Simatai are decreasing in popularity. Badaling is the most well-restored Great Wall. Because we came to Beijing for the first time, Dad wanted to go to the most famous one, so we went Going to Badaling is crowded with people. The Badaling Great Wall climbed to the top by ourselves for about two hours. We took 120 pulleys to go back and forth, because people queued up for two hours during the Spring Festival, and we were very tired. In fact, we only reached the fourth floor of the north, a total of the eighth floor. It is not difficult for people to climb by themselves. The Simatai Great Wall is close to Gubeikou Town, so few people go there. The driver of the Beijing Express said that the scenery is better there, and you can watch folk performances in the ancient town.

To go to the Badaling Great Wall, you can go to Deshengmen Station and transfer to 877 or take the small train S2 Line S2 Harmony Great Wall, which is known as the train to spring. If it is spring and summer, you can sit on the train and see the flowers blooming on the hillsides on both sides. Just thinking about the beautiful scenery gives me the motivation to go to Beijing again.

When going to Beijing in winter, remember to wear gloves, hats, scarves, and be fully armed. The photos I took on the Great Wall were taken with great courage, because it was too cold to take off the gloves...

Day4. Summer Palace→Old Summer Palace→Niujie

Summer Palace: ¥20 Combined ticket: ¥50

Old Summer Palace: ¥10 Combined ticket: ¥25 (including the ruins of the Western Building and the exhibition hall)

How can you not go to the [Summer Palace] when you come to Beijing, it is one of the four famous gardens in China, and it is the largest and most complete royal garden preserved in China. , Traveling in the mountains and rivers is a great joy, and sometimes I listen to operas, and I enjoy life extremely. The most original Summer Palace was burned down by the British and French allied forces, and what we saw was rebuilt during the Guangxu period. Walking around the Summer Palace, looking at the countless flowers, insects, birds and animals painted on the promenade, fragments of famous works, and the prodigal stone brought in by Qianlong with huge sums of money, you can probably feel why the national power has gradually declined since Qianlong. , The corruption of the Qing Dynasty eventually brought it to its downfall. The Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace is now a beautiful iceberg, and it is not difficult to imagine how sparkling and charming the lake will be after it thaws. There is a feeling of returning to the West Lake in Zhejiang. The West Causeway was built after the Su Causeway, and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge was built after the Lugou Bridge. The emperor moved it here and put it in his garden. The beauty of the world is really in my bag. There is a famous statue of Avalokitesvara in the Foxiang Pavilion.

[Yuanmingyuan] is near the Summer Palace, and you can arrange a half-day visit. The Summer Palace is worth visiting the ruins of the Western Building and the maze. The ruins of the Western Building are the ruins left after being burned down. Here you can definitely go to the tour guide and learn about the history. The labyrinth in the Old Summer Palace, also known as [Wanhuazhen], imitates the Versailles labyrinth in France. I have to say that this is the most interesting experience I have had in a day. It took me a long time to get to the pavilion in the middle. It is worth a visit, no need for anything else buy tickets.

In the evening, I went to [Niujie] for a stroll. Niujie in Beijing is an area where Muslims gather, and the halal food here is well-known at home and abroad. There is an old saying in Beijing: Beijing’s snacks are in Xuanwu, and Xuanwu’s snacks are in Niujie. We bought some steamed cakes and kidney bean cakes at [Yi Bao Lotus Leaf Cake]. It is said that Sun Li especially likes this store. The kidney bean cake is sweet but not greasy. It is delicious. I bought a pound of beef cubes at [Hongji Snacks] and tasted it very fragrant. [Palace Crispy Beef Cake] is also super delicious, freshly made and warm in hand. I heard that the food in Wangfujing is expensive and not delicious, but the one in Niujie is more authentic.

———————————————————

It is indeed tiring to walk more than 20,000 steps a day for these four days, but this trip to the imperial capital is worth it. In this era of numerous buildings and material desires, there is still such a place that takes history as its foundation and decorates the city with a large area of ancient rhyme and color. Walking in the old alleys, among the red walls and green tiles, listening to the sound of time flowing, Forget the tedious life, forget yourself. I have seen history and civilization, the great changes in China, and a better China.
