On June 26, today's itinerary is to visit Baquan Gorge.
The main purpose of everyone coming to Changzhi is to visit the Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon. The most representative scenic spot of Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon is Baquan Gorge.
Taihang Mountain is an important mountain range in eastern China, and it is also the dividing line between the Loess Plateau and the North China Plain. This section of Taihang Mountain in the southeast of Shanxi is the boundary between Shanxi and Henan.
Taihang Mountain has many beautiful scenic spots. On the Shanxi side, it is called "Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon", while on the Henan side, it is called "Taihang Grand Canyon". There is a difference of one word, and two provinces are separated, so tourists often don't pay attention to it. We have been to these two scenic spots before, and now we come here mainly to play with our younger brothers and sisters. Of course, when enjoying family fun, whether you have been to the scenic spots is actually not a problem.
Take the shuttle bus from the tourist distribution center to go directly to Baquan Gorge. The journey is relatively long, and it will take about two hours.
Arrived at the visitor center of Baquanxia Scenic Area. There are many ways to visit Baquan Gorge, as well as various tickets. We choose the path that saves the most effort and time. First, take a transportation vehicle at the visitor center to the cruise ship pier, and then take a cruise ship to visit the canyon in the water.
There are many tourists, and there are long queues for cruise ships. However, the capacity of the cruise ship is relatively large, and it will be on board in a short while. Just because there are so many people, I can't take photos along the road as I wish. I had to look at the scenery with my eyes and enjoy the beautiful scenery in front of me.
A plank road is erected on the cliff, and this landscape is called "hanging ladder on the cliff". We were lucky to be on a boat, so we were spared the pain of climbing. However, it is precisely because on the boat that one cannot personally experience the danger of the "precipice" of the plank road. So if there is a gain, there must be a loss!
This area has high mountains and deep water, clear water and blue sky. The name of the scenic spot is very appropriate, called "Gaoxia Pinghu". The flowing water is murmuring and the cool breeze is blowing. Looking at the towering peaks and the dangers of the mountain road, I think of two lines of Song poetry: "In the old days, the road ahead of the twelve peaks was only the sound of apes sharing the sorrows of the guests."
When the cruise ship arrived at the disembarkation pier, everyone abandoned the boat and landed. Started the walking path of the canyon plank road.
My sister once joked that all the scenic spots in the canyon are nothing more than a stream of water sandwiched between two mountain peaks. In fact, it is true, because the words we see describing the scenery are nothing more than the words "high mountains and flowing water". But the Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon can be ranked among the top ten most beautiful canyons in China, which has its own charm.
The canyon in this area: water, stone and bridge blend into a beautiful picture. The water flow is ups and downs, the sound of the water is ups and downs, sometimes whispering like whispers, sometimes noisy like torrential rain, so there is a very poetic name of the scenic spot - "Listen to the Spring in the Valley".
Continue along the boardwalk. While walking, taking pictures while enjoying the beauty of the mountains and rivers.
The scenic spot in this area is called "hanging stream dripping green", which is a typical spring and waterfall landscape in the scenic spot. The spring water from the upper reaches converges into a pool, and the Bagu spring waterfall falls into a rock. The sound of the waves is like big pearls and small pearls falling on a jade plate. Many tourists take pictures here.

The geological phenomenon of continuous arc-shaped caves in this area is called "pot cave". These pot-shaped pits on the bedrock of the river bed are formed by the erosion of the river bed by the gravel entrained by the torrent vortex, and after hundreds of millions of years of erosion. The potholes are concentrated under waterfalls, falling cliffs and rapids with steep slopes. The geological landscape of Baquan Gorge is called "pot hole cave sky".
Walking out of the long and narrow "Cave", the field of vision begins to widen, but the aftertaste of "Hanging Pot" still lingers.
Not far ahead is the holy water of eight springs. The name of Baquan Gorge probably originated from it.
Here it is called "Eight Springs Holy Water", also known as "Little Eight Springs". There are eight springs falling under the bridge. It is said that the pure natural mountain spring water here, after the self-purification of the mountain, is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, selenium, metasilicate and other natural minerals and trace elements. The water quality is sweet and refreshing, which can be called "Holy water".
Continue to move forward, gradually walking towards the height of the mountain.
This is close to the end of the walkway. The rock springs in the valley gather to form a waterfall and cascade down, so it is called "eight springs and floods".
Now to leave the water and go up the mountain. Climbing up the steps along the steps, I feel a little strenuous. After finally arriving at the lower station of the cableway, tourists have already lined up in a long line. We moved slowly with the crowd, and finally took the cable car of the mountaineering cableway.
Take the cable car to the scenic spot on Baquanxia Mountain. From the station on the cableway, it is a short walk to Yuhuang Square.
Yuhuang Square is located at the peak of the western foot of Tiinao Mountain, with an altitude of 1529 meters. Walking to the edge of the cliff to view the scenery, the opposite Huangshi cliff and emerald peaks form a strong color contrast, and the scenery is full of scenery, which makes tourists fascinated!
Overlooking the bottom of the cliff, there are springs and pools connected together, like a chain of emerald beads winding through the green hills and valleys. According to reports, there are eight levels of spring and waterfall pools, so it is called "Eight Lotus Ponds".
The top of the mountain is a platform, and the Jade Emperor Pavilion is built on the edge of the cliff. This is a three-storey octagonal pavilion with three eaves and a cross resting on the top of the mountain. Because everyone is tired, except for the third brother and his wife, they are too lazy to visit the site. Looking up at the high place, there is also the Jade Emperor Palace, and I don't want to climb up the mountain anymore. So I decided to go down the mountain.
There are three ways to go down the mountain: one is to take the sky bus to the "Sky City", and then take the high-speed elevator down the mountain. The second is to walk down the mountain, come to the city of sky, and take the elevator down the mountain. Finally, it is a walk all the way down the mountain.
We chose the first route, taking the air bus. Such a choice is labor-saving, but it also misses many important attractions that can be visited by walking to the Sky City, such as Zodiac Blessings, Hell’s Nose, and Beitianmen. The so-called Skybus is a carriage-type cableway. Arriving at the lower station of the sky bus, you can see the upper bus stop on the top of the mountain and the zigzag walking path. Seeing the tourists slowly descending the mountain on the walking path, I can't help but feel a little envy and regret: It seems that I can't accept the old night!
Careful calculation: Everyone took the cableway up the mountain, mainly to see the Jade Emperor Palace and Yuhuang Pavilion on the top of the mountain, as well as the Beitianmen and Zodiac Blessings on the way down the mountain. , then why come?
Sky City is the upper station of the high-speed sightseeing elevator. There is a suspended and transparent sightseeing platform on the top and inside the station. The surrounding and bottom floors of the platform are made of transparent glass plates. Visitors stand on the glass floor, as if suspended above the abyss, full of excitement and challenges.
The high-speed sightseeing elevator is built next to the mountain, with a running height of 208 meters, a single lift carrying 21 passengers, and a running speed of 4 meters per second. According to reports, the Baizhang Cliff Open-air Elevator and the "Sky City" multi-layer transparent sightseeing platform have "the world's highest open-air sightseeing height and the fastest running through-door outdoor sightseeing elevator" and "the world's highest cliff elevator multi-layer "Transparent Sightseeing Platform" and many other Guinness World Records.
Take the sightseeing elevator down the mountain, and then take the scenic traffic car back to the visitor center, completing all the visits to Baquanxia. Then take the tourist bus back to Changzhi Tourist Distribution Center, ending the full-day tour.
