Three mornings about coffee road odot2020

Nu River

The first morning: the coffee shop on the Double Hongqiao

The suspension bridge across the upper reaches of the Nujiang River is a century-old bridge named Shuanghong Bridge, and the hillside opposite it is full of lychee, mango and arabica trees.

Walking through the ancient bridge, you can find a small coffee shop. The owner of the coffee shop is a Dai girl. She makes hand-made coffee with two representative local arabica coffee varieties-Katimo and Typica. "Katimo coffee is the main product in our region. It has a good body and complex spice taste. And Typica, we also call it an old variety, it has a jujube-like fruity sweetness, a balanced acidity and bitterness, and a long-lasting coffee. Repent."

"Then which one do you recommend?"

"Try it yourself!" The Dai girl showed a shy smile on her face.

Through the fragrant water vapor of the two kinds of coffee, you can just see that in the early morning when the mist gradually dissipates, the rain that lasted for the whole summer has just ended, the Nu River dyed yellow by the sand is turbulent, and the lychees and mangoes on the bank of the turbulent waves are turbulent. Young young leaves are sent out after harvest, and the coffee berries slowly turn red on the branches.

The second morning Lujiangba Xinzhai Coffee Farm

At Lujiang Dam downstream of Shuanghong Bridge, although the drive time is less than one hour, the sharp drop in altitude makes it present a tropical scenery like Southeast Asia.

Through the branches and leaves of the ancient banyan tree with the tree protection sign, you can see a beautiful brick building with colonnades and arches.

This building called Xinzhai Coffee Manor used to be an old local government building and a movie theater. It took four years for the famous architect Hua Li to rebuild it into its unique style today, and it was shortlisted for the top ten Chinese architecture in 2020. "My husband saw Mr. Hua Li's work - Paper Museum in Tengchong, and liked it very much, so he was invited to design this coffee farm for us." The hostess of Xinzhai Coffee Farm said to us.

"Our coffee museum has an exhibition of the life of coffee beans, and you can also experience the whole process of roasting coffee beans in the ancient way in the courtyard under the big banyan tree."

"So can we taste our own roasted beans?"

"Yes, you can still take it away as a gift from our estate."

The third morning Gaoligong Mountain Baihua Ridge

Baihualing was originally called Baihualin, because there are large white sheepshoe flowers planted here, and the local villagers like to pick this flower for food. Later, because the biologists who studied the ecology of Gaoligong Mountain discovered that there were a variety of plants and animals here, they changed this charming name for it.

Baihualing in spring is famous for rhododendrons, and in autumn, the mountain forest is full of small yellow impatiens, white begonias and purple-blue flowers of Gesneriaceae. There are more vines and ferns with various shapes and luxuriant branches, changing different green patterns, which make people feel peaceful.

At the foot of the most famous beauty waterfall in Baihualing, there is also a hidden hot spring called Yinyang Hot Spring. The proprietress of the inn in Baihualing said: "When we were young, people from the nearby villages would come here to soak in the hot springs in winter."

"Are you not coming now?"

"Now that there are fewer people in the village, it's quiet here."

In fact, it is not quiet. The morning sun casts light and shadows on the water, the heat of the hot springs is transpiring in the virgin forest, and amidst the sound of the waterfall, you can hear the laughter of the elves in the forest.

"You can take a hot spring bath here. It's a rare opportunity to soak in wild hot springs in the primeval forest!"

"I think wild baths are too open for shy people, so let's soak our feet."

Various foreign cultures blended here, but despite these auras, Heshun still maintains its simple and unsophisticated style. The moment you walk into the ancient town, everything is quiet and peaceful, without any hustle and bustle.
