Regarding travel in Yunnan, most people have been to Kunming, Lijiang, Dali, Xishuangbanna, Shangri-La and other places, but on the Yunnan border, 200 kilometers away from Myitkyina in Myanmar and 602 kilometers away from Leido in India, there is a small town called Tengchong. My personal favorite place.
Tengchong, the "first city on the extreme edge" of Yunnan, is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, a state of literature and a distribution center for emeralds. Almost every traveler who has been to Tengchong will think about going there one day.
Volcano hot sea, Beihai wetland, Gaoligong mountain, Heshun ancient town...Because of the comfortable climate, numerous delicacies, and profound history and culture, many tourists from other places are attracted to live in Tengchong.
But maybe you don’t know that besides the ancient town of Heshun, there is also an equally beautiful hometown of overseas Chinese hidden in Tengchong——Qiluo.
Led by a local friend, in an afternoon in Tengchong, I drove to Xiaqiluo Village in Tengyue Town, Tengchong City. With a history of more than 600 years, Qiluo has beautiful scenery and simple folk customs.
But very few tourists arrive here, because it has not been developed by tourism and retains the original flavor of the ancient village.
The first thing that catches the eye is the Qiluo Wenchang Palace, which was built in 1609. Although it has experienced more than 400 years of wind and rain, the frame of the entire building complex is basically well preserved.
This is a group of architectural complexes built by combining the regulations of Confucian temples and Taoist temples. It is famous for its grand scale, grandeur and exquisite craftsmanship.
Qiluo Ancient Town has no tickets, and no supporting facilities such as homestays. Strolling in Qiluo Ancient Town, the locals live leisurely, as if the outside world has nothing to do with this place.
In the corner of a certain residential house, firecrackers were in full bloom. Love this place, so quiet.
When Xu Xiake, a great traveler and geographer in the Ming Dynasty, visited Tengchong, he wrote "Qi Luo, the ambition is Yi Luo, and the village is quite prosperous", "Bamboo trees are sparse, fields and ravines are staggered, and it is also a secluded environment." and other praises. Qi Luo's text.
This is enough to see that Qiluo was a beautiful and prosperous village hundreds of years ago, and its prosperity has a great relationship with its history of overseas Chinese affairs.
"Jade comes out of Tengyue, transported from Qiluo", these eight characters on the white wall are very eye-catching.
I went to the Qiluo Library again. The gate is a traditional screen-walled building, simple and elegant. Unfortunately, the library is not yet open to the public.
According to historical records, the history of Qiluo Library can be regarded as the earliest in Tengchong.
In order to achieve the goal of "jointly revitalizing the hometown and building a new Qiluo", Qiluo's overseas Chinese and local sages created the Qiluo Book and Newspaper Reading Room in Tengchong.
Bridges, water, trees, houses, blue bricks, green tiles, double eaves... constitute a rural landscape painting.
There are "one palace, two temples and five ancestral halls" in the whole Qiluo. There are also many famous ancient residences, ancient wells, ancient plaques, and various types of family halls representing Han culture, and most of them belong to the ancient relics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
So many cultural relics and historic sites are concentrated in the residential area of Xiaqiluo Village, which is less than one square kilometer. Its density is so high that it is rare in the whole country.
Wandering around Qiluo Ancient Town, I met the Duan Jiayu Mansion in a prominent place, and went in for a walk when I had nothing to do.
Tengchong is the birthplace of the jadeite processing industry, and jade carving is the first cornerstone of Tengchong's industrial and economic development, with a history of more than 400 years.
The jadeite processing industry in Tengchong, which began in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the Qing Dynasty, gave Tengchong the reputation of "Emerald City". It is said that even the most ordinary woman on Tengchong Street may wear a jade bracelet worth hundreds of thousands.
Stepping into the Duanjiayu Mansion, this is a large courtyard with an antique flavor.
After being introduced by a local friend, I found out that this Qiluo Duanjiayu is still a century-old brand in Tengchong, ranking first among the four famous jades in Tengchong, and it is now the fifth generation heir.
I also admired a lot of high-quality jadeite, learned a lot about the history of Tengchong jadeite, and the story of Duan Shengcai, the pioneer of Qiluo Duanjia jade.
"Duan Jiayu" is one of the famous emerald jades, and the raw material of Duan Jiayu bracelet is a unique piece of jade that has been recognized in the jade world so far.
In the huge exhibition hall, choosing a piece of jade you like is actually talking about fate. Looking at these exquisite jade carvings, I only sighed that I was too shy.
With a heartbeat, I chose a safety button for my mother under the permission of my ability, hoping that she will be healthy and safe. Buying a piece of jade is a trust in the brand of Qiluo Duan Jiayu and a trust in a person.
In the yard on the first floor, there is also a stone gambling area. A piece of rough stone, wrapped with yellow tape, you don't know what's inside, just like buying a blind box.
After leaving Qiluo Duanjiayu, he went to Shuiying Temple.
This is one of the eight ancient temples in Tengchong. It is known as "Shuiying Temple, the temple reflects the water, and the water flows in the temple". It has a history of nearly 500 years and is also one of the relatively well-preserved ancient temples in Tengchong County.
After hundreds of years of wind and rain, Shuiying Temple is mottled by time. It's a pity that I couldn't enter it that day, which is a bit regrettable.
It is rare to spend an afternoon wandering around Qiluo Ancient Town, thinking that such an authentic place has not been developed by tourism.
Every time I come to Tengchong, there will be surprises.
A local friend said that I have been to many places that Tengchong locals have not been to. Like Yunfeng Mountain, Hemu Camellia Village, Xiaodifang Village, Palian Art Village, Heiyu River, Gaoligong Mountain Hiking Route, Tengchong Ginkgo Village, etc., and now there is another one, which is Qiluo Ancient Town.
Have you ever bought Tengchong Jadeite? Have you heard of Qiluo Ancient Town? Let's talk in the message area~
