If given another chance, where would you choose to return to? In May 2021, I stepped into Congjiang, Guizhou again, and came to know this city again.
1. Guangzhou-Zhaoxing Dong Village
At 8 o'clock in the morning on May 2, Guangzhou-Congjiang, transfer to Guilin West, experience sitting in a suitcase in the aisle for the first time, the changing scenery outside the window, the King of Glory stuck in the hand, and friends looking at each other and smiling Passing through Guilin, there are indeed green mountains and green waters, national culture with representative regional characteristics, house construction styles that have never been understood, Zhuang national costumes and customs.
Arrive at Congjiang at 1:00 p.m., go out to the center of the scenic spot to take the sightseeing minibus of Zhaoxing Dong Village, get on the bus and buy a ticket price: 10 yuan per person, go to the scenic spot ticket center to buy and exchange tickets, ticket: 75 yuan /person (ps: If you buy online in advance, you have to go here to change it to paper. It is recommended to carry it with you. If you need to go back after leaving the village, you need to re-check the ticket), then go to the mountain to the scenic spot, Congjiang Station- The scenic spot is several kilometers away, and walking is not recommended.
After arriving at the scenic spot, I contacted the owner of the inn to pick us up. It was indeed not easy to find. This time I changed the place to live near the stream and far away from the busy streets of the main street: Liping Dong Township Ruyi Inn. Affected by the location at the foot of the mountain, the field of vision is limited, but a corner of peace can also be found from the windows.
There are also unexpected surprises: staying for 2 nights, there is a power outage every night (can’t laugh or cry)........and an inexplicable visitor: a bed with flying ants. Guizhou is very hot this month, and it is easy to cause insufficient power supply. If it rains at night, ants may fly into the house through unsealed windows.
[Speaking of food, Nanyue Huotang and Dong Township, two adjacent stores, you will find that the menu styles are very similar, because they belong to the same family, the taste is not bad, if you can’t find something you want to eat, you can try it down here. Bamboo rice is delicious. 】

Returning here, I have my expectations, but the refurbished streets and shops everywhere have also erased the original simplicity and nature. The curling smoke has turned into barbecue stalls that can be seen everywhere.
The distinctive Drum Tower lacks firewood piles at night, old people chatting about homework, and piled reeds, which is why I prefer to go in cold weather. Evening performances lack the surprise of the first encounter, the same content, and endless charging methods, which lower the happiness of tourists. Maybe I went for the traditional culture, and the next day's trip to Bazaar was even more heart-warming.
2. Basha Miao Village
On the morning of May 3, catch the round-trip shuttle bus to Basha Miao Village at 9:30, 60 yuan/person/round trip. There is a dedicated bus at the gate of the village, and there are many contact methods in the village. The journey takes about 40 minutes, going around and shuttling in the mountains. If you get motion sickness, you need to prepare motion sickness medicine. Arrive halfway up the mountain and change to a shuttle bus for 20 yuan/person/round trip to the entrance of the scenic spot.
Basha Miao Village, the only tribe in China that legally carries guns, ticket + performance: 80 yuan/person. Basha people regard trees as their gods, so they can't trample on them or cut them down. They respect the local culture and do as the Romans do.
When a man becomes an adult, a coming-of-age ceremony is held, and the hair around the head is shaved off, leaving a bun in the middle. The place where the performance was performed was on the mountain, with limited seats. Sitting cross-legged, we were in close contact with the floor. We also watched the weddings of the tourists at the scene up close, and felt the strength of their performance. It was really hard. There were exchanges and interactions in the performance, and I felt their enthusiasm, respect and sincerity for us outsiders, and I was integrated into it. Well worth the trip.
I heard that there are children in Basha who will ask tourists for money, so it is not recommended to give them.
3. Return
On May 4, the weather was cloudy and rainy. No itinerary, no rush, take the through train from Zhaoxing Dongzhai-Congjiang High-speed Railway Station: 10 yuan/person, go home. I prefer it to be a bit cooler than hot. Several journeys were planned suddenly, and the departure was sudden. On the afternoon of April 29th, I made a temporary travel plan. On the 30th, I started to buy tickets and book hotels, so I can travel as I like. I also hope that every journey will be true to myself and find myself.
