The self-driving "sea tour" on the west line of Erhai Lake starts from the ancient city of Dali (Longkan Wharf). The west line around the sea and the east line around the sea are not exactly the same scenery.
The fishing villages on the west line of the Erhai Lake are denser. Longkan Wharf, Banxi S-curve, and Haitong Park are all located on the Huanhai West Road on the west line around the sea, and the fields with the strongest autumn flavor also appear in large areas in Haixi. The area is near Xizhou Ancient Town.
The self-driving "sea tour" on the west line of Erhai Lake is divided into two sections. The first section is Longkan Wharf-Xizhou Ancient Town; the second section is Xizhou Ancient Town-Butterfly Spring-Nanzhao Customs Island.
Because motor vehicles are prohibited from entering Erhai Huanhai West Road, you can choose to ride from Dali Ancient City (Longkan Wharf) to Haitong Park on the first journey, from Xizhou Ancient Town to Nanzhao Customs Island (Shuanglang) via Butterfly Spring You can choose to drive by yourself.
If you don't choose to ride in the first part of the journey, you can also choose to take the Dali Line and visit the scenic spots one by one.
Starting from the ancient city, drive to the parking lot of Longkan Wharf and park it, then walk to Longkan Wharf for sightseeing.
The short 25-kilometer journey from Longkan Wharf to Haitong Park includes the most magnificent "sea village scenery" on Erhai West Road.
The walking ecological corridor is laid along the winding shape of the Erhai Lake. On one side of the ecological corridor are the gorgeous and luxurious Bai folk houses and B&Bs, and on the other side the Erhai Lake is within easy reach.
Walking on this section of the ecological corridor in the morning, the soft golden sunlight sprinkled on the water surface, lit up the houses on the shore, and woke up the people who were sleeping in the room.
At this time, the Erhai Lake is the most complex time of light and shadow, light and dark interlaced, the distant mountains and the Erhai Lake are bright and dark, and the warm sun that skims over the water makes the shadows of the trees growing on the shore long.

After seeing the quiet Longkan Wharf and a corner of the ecological corridor in the morning, I returned on the same road and drove straight to Xizhou Ancient Town.
On the road from Longkan Wharf to Xizhou Ancient Town, there is a huge and real pastoral landscape painting, with green hills walking beside, cars traveling in the fields, the fields are well-organized, and the crops and flowers complement each other.
The houses in the wilderness remain the same throughout the year, and only the crops in the farmland change. In the spring, the field is rapeseed, in summer it is green rice and lotus ponds, in autumn it is golden rice fields, and in winter it is fallow.
When you drive into Xizhou Ancient Town, you will find that the beauty here is very rich and pure!
Stroll in the small alleys of different widths in Xizhou Ancient Town, stand in front of the houses that combine ethnic and classical styles, and walk past one by one.
Go through the streets and alleys, take a look at the hand-made tie-dye, taste Dali's unique breast fan popsicles, study various ancient buildings, and then go to the rice fields in Xizhou Ancient Town to experience the rolling waves of rice Harvest joy to come!
Leave Xizhou Ancient Town and go to the next destination - Butterfly Spring.
Butterfly Spring is located at the foot of Yunnong Peak in Cangshan Mountain, not far from Xizhou Ancient Town. It is surrounded by mountains and residential buildings, and can be easily reached by following the navigation.
The Butterfly Spring has a very large area. In my opinion, it is divided into three floors. The first floor is the outer parking lot, the second floor is the bamboo forest and the cherry blossom forest, and the third floor is the core floor, where the Butterfly Spring Pool is located. It is also the most beautiful place in Butterfly Spring Park.
Pass through layers of woods and arrive at the quaint Butterfly Spring archway. The most beautiful scenery of Butterfly Spring is in front of you. When you get closer, you can see all the dense forests, mountains, springs and lakes in front of you.
Watch the Butterfly Spring first, then visit Lover Lake to watch the show, and visit the Butterfly Pavilion and Butterfly World by the lake.

Entering the museum, the first thing you see is the treasure of the town hall made of butterfly specimens - "Nanzhao Butterfly Fair", which allows us to see the grandness and excitement of the Butterfly Fair on April 15th of the lunar calendar.
Touring along the guiding route, you can see butterflies distributed all over the world here. You can find rare and common ones here, and you can't help but want to be a "butterfly chaser".
In Butterfly Spring Park, besides the sights to see, there are also things to play, such as the Shouting Spring with very eye-catching renderings, and the squirrels that live in the woods that can be fed.
After leaving Butterfly Spring Park and bypassing Shangguan Town, we came to Shuanglang Ancient Town and Nanzhao Customs Island.
Shuanglang Ancient Town is not big, but there is one sentence that best sums it up: "Although the sparrow is small, it has all five internal organs". It not only has the beautiful scenery and delicious food of the Erhai Sea, but it is also extremely excellent.
Nanzhao Customs Island is located in the Erhai Lake, only tens of meters away from the pier of Shuanglang Ancient Town, and you can take a cruise ship to reach the other side.
Nanzhao Fengqing Island is surrounded by water, and it is adjacent to Yuji Island where Shuanglang Town is located. On Fengfeng Island, you can see the mountains, play in the water, enjoy the scenery, and look at the fishing village on the other side. There are different scenery on all sides.
The Nanzhao Fengqing Island is covered by tall trees, and you can't see its true face from a distance. When you step on the Fengfeng Island, the previously blocked scenery is displayed in front of you.
The seaside comprehensive beach is under a cliff and close to the water. Here you can play in the water and rest. Every summer, this is the most popular resting place.
Along the tour plank road around Nanzhao Customs Island, you can encounter Erhai Moon Observation Deck, Nanzhao Palace, Benzhu Square, Shayimu Group Sculptures, etc. The whole tour plank road is under the shade of trees, so you don’t have to worry about the sun.
The Erhai Moon Observation Deck is said to be the best place to watch the "moon" of the four scenic spots in Dali, because when the moon is full, the clear light of the moonlight covers the entire water area, as if the stars in the sky have fallen on the water, which is so beautiful that it is unforgettable. .
The main square allows you to have a deep understanding of the heroes in the population of Dali. These heroes are legendary and real. Their common feature is that they have made important contributions to Dali. Therefore, the square is built here to praise their deeds.
The Nanzhao Palace and the main square stand back against each other. The overall building is white, and the style is both Tang style and ethnic style, so it looks very eye-catching and unique.
The interior decoration of the Nanzhao Palace is full of royal style. The algae well in the center of the hall roof is designed to imitate the ancient royal architecture, not to mention the very obvious royal architectural elements inside. The feeling of grandeur is not shared by all buildings. .
Passing through a forest, it is an excellent location to enjoy the scenery of Shuanglang Town from a long distance. The buildings are built near the water, and the traditional Bai people's houses are built one after another. They are different and each has its own advantages.
Surrounding the island to the front of Nanzhao Customs Island is the Sha Yimu Group Sculptures. After spending two hours visiting Nanzhao Customs Island, you can choose to live in Shuanglang Ancient Town, and then leave the follow-up time to "Shuanglang", go deep into the alleys of the town, and experience its humanistic atmosphere to the fullest.
